Margaret Hoover interviews Alexandria Cortez, askes asinine question about capitalism

While interviewing Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on PBS Firing-Line, July 15th, 2018, Margaret Hoover asked Cortez, “Do you think that capitalism has failed to deliver for working class Americans?”

What is problematic is our economic system is not “capitalism”, and it ought never be referred to as “capitalism” by those who support and defend the economic system our Founders created and left to us.

The fact is, the word “capitalism” was unknown to our founders. In fact it was used and popularized by Karl Marx to describe a free market system in an evil light. By contrast, our founder’s often describe our system in a manner promoting a free market, free trade, or free enterprise ___ “free” being the operative word. For example see Thomas Jefferson : First Annual Message to Congress

”Agriculture, manufactures, commerce, and navigation, the four pillars of our prosperity, are the most thriving when left most free to individual enterprise.”

I have never found our founders using the word “capitalism” to describe our system. In fact, the very reason for granting power to Congress to “regulate commerce” among the States was to protect and advance free trade among the States by forbidding one state taxing another state’s exports which passed through its borders. This is further illustrated in Article 1, Section 9 which declares: “No Preference shall be given by any Regulation of Commerce or Revenue to the Ports of one States over those of another; nor shall Vessels bound to, or from, one States, be obliged to enter, clear, or pay Duties in another.”

But our progressive/socialist domestic enemies do not like the word “free” being used to describe our economic system because it is hard to attack the word “free” which clearly implies the people are to be “free” to engage in commerce and freely trade with by mutual consent ___ an original inalienable right of mankind. “Capitalism” on the other hand gives great latitude to cast America’s system in an evil light, particularly as a system manipulated by evil “Crony Capitalists”.

For more on the distinctions between our system, as intended by our Founders, and “Capitalism”, see: PART TWO: Free Enterprise is Better than Capitalism The following descriptions of “Capitalism” and “Free Enterprise” are noted as follows:

Capitalism (crony capitalism): A system where the law encourages market forces and also gives preference and special benefits to the sector of the economy owned by big capital—including big corporations like in Corporatism, but also wealthy foreign and multinational corporations, and highly influential non-corporate institutions such as rich foundations, moneyed trusts, political parties, well-funded lobbies and special interest groups, affluent non-profit entities, wealthy families, moneyed foreign investors, and others with large amounts of capital. Under this system, the rich rule society, and they naturally influence government to maintain policies that benefit the rich more than others.

Free Enterprise: A system where the law encourages market forces and gives no special preferences; it protects equal rights for all individuals and entities and leaves initiative and enterprise to private individuals, groups, businesses and organizations that are all treated equally and with minimal legislation by the legal code.

The bottom line is, we know Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has attacked “capitalism”. But does she support the free market system our Founders left us with and reject the force of our federal government being used to confiscate the earnings of one group of Citizens which is then transferred to another for their personal economic needs?

A lot of the things that self-proclaimed advocates of “free enterprise” support are, in fact, cronyism: whittling away at labor rights, weakening consumer protection, enforcement of non-compete agreements, ag-gag laws, and mandatory arbitration.

Yup! The are "self-proclaimed advocates of “free enterprise”. But by their actions they are anything but defenders of a free market system.

The unavoidable truth is, our Fifth Column democrat political leaders’ plan for “free” college tuition will be paid for by confiscating and redistributing the paychecks of millions of college graduates who worked for and paid their own way through college and are now trying to finance their own economic needs.

I’m referring to you. “Crony capitalism” is the only kind of free enterprise that has existed.

I don’t support or defend “capitalism”. I support and defend the free market system our founders created.

Laissez-faire did not exist until well after our country’s founding.

What on earth does that have to do with referring to our system as being “capitalism”?

The Democrat Party dream ticket has finally been established.

See SOCIALIST DREAM TICKET: Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders To Campaign Together

“This week, I am traveling to Kansas with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to rally in support of James Thompson’s and Brett Welder’s campaigns for Congress — two great progressive candidates who will prove our message can win anywhere,” Sen. Bernie Sanders wrote in an email to supporters.

Is the free cheese ticket really a winning ticket?

if the opposite of socialism is anarchy then the opposite of anarchy (no government) is socialism (maximum government)

there is little if any freedom in maximum government

Labor rights?

One of the inalienable rights of mankind is the right to negotiate the value of one’s OWN LABOR.

Another inalienable right of mankind is the right to mutually agree in their contracts and associations.

“……with all these blessings, what more is necessary to make us a happy and a prosperous people? Still one thing more, fellow-citizens—a wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities“. Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address

It is absolutely amazing that a number of Fox News personalities continue to refer to our system as “capitalism” rather than a free market system. Do they not realize “capitalism” was a word unknown to our founders, a word popularized by Karl Marx and used by him to attack a free market system?

Our progressive domestic enemies do not like the word “free” being used to describe our system which is hard to attack because it embraces freedom. “Capitalism” on the other hand gives great latitude to cast America’s system in an evil light, as Karl Marx did, and particularly so as a system manipulated and controlled by evil “capitalists”.

Karl Marx popularized the word “capitalism” __ a word unknown to our founders’ __ to attack the free market system our founders created. Why do so many talking heads refer to our system as “capitalism” rather than a free market system which our founders created? Do they fear and recoil from the word “free’ like Marx did?

There is no “free market” in the US and never will be. You have been lied to your entire life and until you realize that if left unchecked the captains of industry will constantly undercut the ability of those below them to compete in a “free market” you will continue to be disappointed by the US economy.

Do you know what the ideal workforce in a free market is? Slavery.

Didn’t work out that way for your beloved founding fathers’ slaves.

You are as successful as your masters allow you to be. No more.
