It didn’t take long to be obvious you hadn’t read it.
There studies are on people working directly with CCPV patients in close proximity, close, intimate contact, and using N95 and 12-16 layer surgical masks.
It also states plainly they have very little data on the use of face masks or goggles.
It also concludes with stating there still isn’t nearly enough known about this virus or similar viruses (SARS Like) to recommend a specific set of protocols.
It also doesn’t control for the other factors like other PPE and good hygiene.
This however is very basic science, the eyes are one of the 3 direct pathways to the respiratory tract.
This eye protection gig you are on is odd. Studies have shown masks along reduce infection rate and reduce severity of infection via reducing loading.
That you can’t admit this is weird and counter to common sense. Yes, eyes are an infection vector. As are mouth and nose. Reducing efficacy of that vector of two of the three clearly is helpful, especially in non-healthcare settings where Covid is more intermittent (cough, sneeze…)
Yes it’s so conclusive they give a nebulous statement and cannot show to what degree it’s going to protect the average person particularly since we can’t get the same masks and are not working in a close contact environment with infected patients on a daily basis.
Nor does it in any way control for other PPP, or attention to sanitary procedures and again, they have very little data on the wearing of eye protection and didn’t control for it.
The whole thing was a waste of time, you should have read it before posting it because it doesn’t support you position.
Yes … they help prevent other people from getting the virus from you. But if you want to feel safe in the crowd by wearing a mask, you go right ahead. Maybe when all is said and done some researcher will discover that that belief produces the equivalent of a placebo effect.
No disagreement there. I have said that all along. But the fact remains, if you don’t wear a mask and everyone else is, you are at no greater risk than if you wore a mask too.
