Lol that Afghanistan is at war with the west. Like itās an existential threat to anyone. Thereās no special brand of uber terrorism practiced there that western nations arenāt at risk of from actual non-failed states. Itās not about giving up to the terrorists, its about not being able to admit failure and that moving beyond the footprint of the handful of western troops that aiding in the overthrow of the Taliban was a mistake. Britain threw in the towel, it still exists. Same for Russia. There are actual real existential problems in the world that command attention and resources. Afghanistan is not that.
