Let us be clear. President Trump cannot shut down the federal government!

You linked to another forum. Plus that link discussed nothing about debt, just collection of taxes.

Link to a Hannity thread that you started where you were angry about Trump and the increasing debt. The debt that he is creating.

The Fair Share Balanced Budget Amendment certainly does address the debt problem:

“SECTION 1. The Sixteenth Amendment is hereby repealed and Congress is henceforth forbidden to lay any tax or burden calculated from profits, gains, interest, salaries, wages, tips, inheritances or any other lawfully realized money.

NOTE: these words would return us to our Constitution’s original tax plan as it was intended to operate! They would also end the experiment with allowing Congress to lay and collect taxes calculated from lawfully earned "incomes" which now oppresses America‘s economic engine and robs the bread which working people have earned when selling their labor!

"SECTION 2. Congress ought not raise money by borrowing, but when the money arising from imposts duties and excise taxes are insufficient to meet the public exigencies, and Congress has raised money by borrowing during the course of a fiscal year, Congress shall then lay a direct tax at the beginning of the next fiscal year for an amount sufficient to extinguish the preceding fiscal year’s deficit, and apply the revenue so raised to extinguishing said deficit."

NOTE: Congress is to raise its primary revenue from imposts and duties, [taxes at our water’s edge], and may also lay miscellaneous internal excise taxes on specifically chosen articles of consumption. But if Congress borrows and spends more than is brought in from imposts, duties and miscellaneous excise taxes during the course of a fiscal year, then, and only then, is the apportioned tax to be laid.

"SECTION 3. When Congress is required to lay a direct tax in accordance with Section 1 of this Article, the Secretary of the United States Treasury shall, in a timely manner, calculate each State’s apportioned share of the total sum being raised by dividing its total population size by the total population of the united states and multiplying that figure by the total being raised by Congress, and then provide the various State Congressional Delegations with a Bill notifying their State’s Executive and Legislature of its share of the total tax being collected and a final date by which said tax shall be paid into the United States Treasury."

NOTE: our founder’s fair share formula to extinguish an annual deficit would be:

States’ population

---------------------------- X SUM TO BE RAISED = STATE’S FAIR SHARE

Total U.S. Population

The above formula, as intended by our founding fathers, is to insure that each state’s share towards extinguishing an annual deficit is proportionately equal to its representation in Congress, i.e., representation with proportional financial obligation!

Note also that each State’s number or Representatives, under our Constitution is also determined by the rule of apportionment:

State`s Pop.

__________ X House size (435) = State`s No. of Representatives

U.S. Pop.

"SECTION 4. Each State shall be free to assume and pay its quota of the direct tax into the United States Treasury by a final date set by Congress, but if any State shall refuse or neglect to pay its quota, then Congress shall send forth its officers to assess and levy such State’s proportion against the real property within the State with interest thereon at the rate of ((?)) per cent per annum, and against the individual owners of the taxable property. Provision shall be made for a 15% discount for those States paying their share by ((?))of the fiscal year in which the tax is laid, and a 10% discount for States paying by the final date set by Congress, such discount being to defray the States’ cost of collection."

NOTE: This section respects the Tenth Amendment and allows each state to raise its share in its own chosen way in a time period set by Congress, but also allows the federal government to enter a state and collect the tax if a state is delinquent in meeting its obligation.

"SECTION 5. This Amendment to the Constitution, when ratified by the required number of States, shall take effect no later than (?) years after the required number of States have ratified it.

John Adams was absolutely correct when he pointed that "democracy will envy all, contend with all, endeavor to pull down all; and when by chance it happens to get the upper hand for a short time, it will be revengeful, bloody, and cruel…". Witness today the suicidal path America has chosen, supported by a Fifth Colum media and Yellow Journalists.

reflechissez confirmed above that link is the same thing I post all the time, everywhere.

The old Hannity forum where I posted a number of threads opposed to some specific Trump proposals is no longer accessible.

Nice try, John. You and everyone else who is reading this thread knows that NONE of your walls of text address trump’s ballooning of the debt.

When Obama was President, John did a good job of weekly reminders of the debt and ObamaCare and executive orders and how all of those were going to ruin the country.

Not so much now.

It’s a mystery.

Perfect. This is the essence of his posts.

translation: we can’t refute what was posted so, let us mock and be dismissive of what was posted.

Illegal immigration is now costing American citizens over $18 billion a year in healthcare costs alone, far more than the measly $5 billion asked for to build a wall! LINK

I’m also curious about how you feel about Trump and the debt and deficit he is ballooning with his policies?

The link you posted doesn’t address how you feel about HIS policies.

I think people just want a direct answer. That’s all

As far back as 1978 I have criticized Congress as a body for not working to balance the annual budget. You want to make reckless borrowing a political partisan argument. My criticism does not discriminate between Presidents, nor Congress as a body. And, I believe I am the only one who has offered a no nonsense balanced budget amendment.

Sorry John, that is just not accurate.

On the old boards, you would start several threads lambasting President Obama over the debt.
You have yet to start a thread lambasting President Trump over the debt.

That is not true. I did in fact take President Trump to task for not including a method to balance the annual federal budget in his tax reform proposal.

And, I have taken to task every president since and including Jimmy Carter, for not promoting our Constitution’s intended and no nonsense method to balance the annual budget.

JWK

Doesn’t it get tiring having to save Trump from dumb things he says?

He is rather impetuous, isn’t he?

JWK

Unthinking, half-cocked, bombastic, impulsive…take your pick.

So, the filter filtered a non-filter needing phrase

Trump constantly has his mouth partially pulled back like the hammer on a 1911

Yeah… let the misinformation stop.
Examples provided…

That article is pure unadulterated nonsense for the feeble minded.

Yeah, The Washington Examiner is real rightie hogwash.
I just came across this:Democrat wants to block Paul Ryan's gym access during government shutdowns | Washington Examiner

A Democratic lawmaker has introduced legislation to close the gym and sauna reserved for members of Congress during a government shutdown.

Sounds like the right thing to do.

There isn’t a single quote in that article from a Democrat calling or insinuating that they want open borders.

It’s a opinion piece with zero facts in it
