Legalizing Psychedelics

Also check out the docu. Different aspects of the same study.

“The Spirit Molecule investigates dimethyltryptamine (DMT), an endogenous psychoactive compound, which exists in humans and numerous species of plants and animals. The documentary traces Dr. Rick Strassman’s government-sanctioned, human DMT research and its many trials, tribulations, and inconceivable realizations.”

I will try to this weekend, thank you!

I finally had a chance to watch this. It is absolutely fascinating! I’m actually a little less scared, and even more intrigued. I haven’t bought the book yet, but plan to.

By the way, I read an interview with the guy that headed the decriminalization of mushrooms, and apparently it’s legal in most states, including Colorado, to buy the mushroom spores on line. Who knew?!
High Times has had ads for mushroom growing kits, but I had no idea it was legal to buy them.

I dunno about anyone else, but I could listen to Ol’ Stuttering Stamets all day anyday. I also love his hat.

Because the spores contain no psilocybin or psilocin, they are legal to sell and possess (in all states except California, Georgia, and Idaho). It’s the hallucinogenic compounds that are illegal, not the mushroom itself.

Do NOT get caught cultivating them though. lol

I will watch that for sure. Probably won’t be for a week or two till I have time to myself. My husband is not enjoying my interest in these things, lol.

Lol, growing weed always worried me before it was legalized. We didn’t do it a whole lot before that, but once in a while. I can’t imagine mushrooms are as smelly.

Haha, they are clinically using psychedelics for therapy now and alcoholism abuse. It’s a fascinating topic, whether or not you use them recreationally

Oh it is SO fascinating, and I fully intend to watch that video. I also fully intend to try at least one of the psychedelics at some point. I just don’t need the annoyance from my husband, lol. I like that the DMT, while probably extremely intense, is short lived. Five or six hours with the mushrooms sounds like a lot, but possibly more enjoyable? Don’t know. I need to do a lot more reading/watching.

I’ve never done DMT. I cant do psychedelics anymore. But if you try, be safe.

It certainly explains a lot about Portland.

Wonder how many folks will get run over by folks using this crap? People driving under this influence?

Oh come on, psychedelics aren’t why Portland sucks.

Even Mike Tyson is onboard with the healing power of psychedelics. The video makes a small mistake when referring to what he actually smoked. The molecule is called 5-MeO-DMT, and it comes from the mucus of the Sonora Desert Toad here in the Southwest United States/Northwestern Mexico, where it has been used in religious ceremonies by indigenous peoples for thousands of years. As N,N-DMT is referred to as, “The Spirit Molecule” some refer to 5-MeO-DMT as, “The God Molecule” because it takes you straight there without the visuals.

Excerpt is from Art of Conversation with Dan LeBatard, a two part interview on YouTube, where in part of the interview Tyson describes his spiritual rebirth as a result of this tryptamine-class psychedelic:

Iron Mike might not be the best spokesperson

On the contrary, Iron Mike is the perfect person to experience the benefits of ego death.

He is simply still a horrible spokesperson, even more so in the current “me too” environment. And I say that as someone who is both receptive to the idea and knows (although barely) Mike in real life.

That’s why we have Joe Rogan.
