Judge refuses same sex marriages

Can the judge refuse to marry Jews? Can they refuse to marry interracial couples? Can they refuse to marry someone who was previously married? Can they refuse to marry someone who they suspect cheated?

I’ll remember that next time a Democrat is in office and you applaud them for not doing their job when they disagree with it.

Case in point: Dreamers.

If the judge is in a position where performing marriages is at their discretion and not part of their duties: yes

Judges in this state are not required to perform marriages period.

Essentially this is the same arguments droning on endlessly, as Religions are bullied into submission, by Open Society Antifa, Merkelized, Globalized, America haters. EU, UN, Greta the Brainwashed, Mass Media, SexParty Hollywood, Drug pushing, Epstein pedophiles…on and on…

Instructions to celibate, Mahayana Buddhist monks aspiring to be Bodhisattvas quoted as evidence that It isn’t only Christianity, Judaism and Islam that warns about homosexual behavior as pertaining to their salvation:

"Again, Mañgusrî, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not take hold of some favourable opportunity or another to preach the law to females every now and anon, nor is he desirous of repeatedly seeing females; nor does he think it proper to visit families and then too often address a girl, virgin, or young wife, nor does he greet them too fondly in return.

He does not preach the law to a hermaphrodite, ** (see below)

keeps no intercourse with such a person, nor greets too friendly in return.

He does not enter a house alone in order to receive alms, unless having the Tathâgata in his thoughts.

And when he happens to preach the law to females, he does not do so by passionate attachment to the law, far less by passionate attachment to a woman. When he is preaching, he does not display his row of teeth, let alone a quick emotion on his physiognomy.

He addresses no novice, male or female, no nun, no monk, no young boy, no young girl, nor enters upon a conversation with them; he shows no great readiness in answering their address, nor cares to give too frequent answers.

This, Mañgusrî, is called the first proper sphere of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva."

**. “Hermaphrodite” in this Translation, is an old english translation of the Prakrit term “Pandaka” which is broken down into “the five types of unmanly men.”. This also pertains to Hinduism.

It includes Hermaphrodites with physical differences, today called Intersex, but also includes others with Sexual tendencies differing from male and female monogamous relations, for the purpose for laypeople with children and family.
–Quote above from the Peaceful Practices chapter of the Lotus Sutra.

The above is not about persecuting gays. It is about monks in monasteries refraining from breaking celibacy vows or giving in to temptations, during preaching.

This is also a warning to lay people aspiring to be Bodhisattvas. Religion, whether priest or layperson, warns about sexual desires that are different from that seeking childbirth in a “Good Family.”

It is understood that sexual desire and pleasure, propagates the species, but must be under control of the individuals seeking awakening or salvation.

All religions have teachings imposing restrictions regarding sexuality. Priests traditionally were celibate.

All religions have specific Marriage teachings and traditions. Priests can choose not to officiate at any kind of ritual if deemed irreligious. Receiving alms to perform an irreligious officiation ritual would be frowned upon. Secular laws cannot control or impose itself upon religion.

A lot of politicians behave like corrupted priests.

No she can’t.

Cool story bro.

Sorry nope.

But when they do, they must perform them impartially…

Sure. Why not? Are we talking about officiating over a marriage ceremony? or merely counter-signing a register or a certificate?

Only one Waco-based justice of the peace has been doing any civil weddings since the high court decided Obergefell vs. Hodges on July 26, 2015, and she said she will only do a wedding between a man and a woman.

What do think performing a marriage ceremony means? In Texas, the person performing the ceremony signs the marriage license.

Here’s the only liturgy needed for a homosexual wedding.

The couple enter the office with their witnesses. "So, [name 1], do you want to be legally married to [name2]? "
“Yes.”
And [name 2], do you want to be legally married to [name 1]? "
“Yes.”
"Sign here… Sign here… Sign here… Sign here… Goodbye. "

That is performing a ceremony which the judge is refusing for same sex couples. She has an easy choice, perform no marriages like all the other JP’s in her area.

I know that “Kevin Can Wait” was bad… but I didn’t realize it was that bad.

Logical fallacy alert. False dichotomy. She can also perform whatever marriage ceremonies she chooses in a private capacity as a marriage celebrant, and do the offical paper work in her office at a different time.

No she can’t. You can read the committee report and the ABA code as to why. The extrajudicial actions of a judge are subject to scrutiny, in this case the appearance of partiality. If she resigns her seat, she could marry (or not marry) whoever she wants. As long as she’s a judge, she is required to follow the same standards as all the other judges.

When she signs the marriage license will she be signing as a judge? Stupid games, stupid prizes…

So, Judge Hensley has stated intelligently her own religious objections to same sex marriages, and even directed same sex couples to judges who would be willing to perform the ceremony, and that’s a problem?!

Couldn’t state how many times I could sense someone didn’t want my business, from pet adoptions to prenatal care. I wish they had given a response like “I don’t adopt animals out to families with small children, but (Insert Name Here) Shelter will be willing to work with you.”

Instead, it’s a bunch of passive aggressive ■■■■■■■■ and excuses, behaviors like unreturned phone calls. ■■■■ that ■■■■■

Note a little more than halfway down the linked article “Respect must be earned. It cannot be forced.”

The latter is what advocates of SSM are trying to do with Judge Hensley—force her to bow down to their demands & accede to marrying them—something she is going to resent the ■■■■ out of doing. Oh, boy, who doesn’t want a resentful public official presiding over their wedding?!

Is Texas a state, like Indiana and Arizona, that allows for conscientious objection? If not, this Judge may be sanctioned in some way or made to step down.

If not, she has followed her conscience and even referred them to someone else.

I agree. They may not be a requirement, but they are official once taken on.
