After Trump’s constant bellyaching about servers and emails, I am surprised to hear this.
He has been relying on encrypted messaging service WhatsApp and his personal email account to conduct official business.

One would think that the constant barrage of “Lock Her Up” they would take a little bit of care.
Jared and Ivanka both had to be given security clearances under Trump’s order because the people reviewing them didn’t want to. Both participated in a campaign in which a constant message was that their political opponent should be locked up for not handling e-mail security properly. Both have now been found to have flagrantly violated cyber security guidelines.
And this will be a dead story by tomorrow morning because this administration is so filled with corruption and scandal that it’s impossible for public perception to keep up.

In letter to WH, Rep. Cummings reveals that KUSHNER was routinely using WhatsApp to conduct official business as recently as Dec. 2018. Kushner’s lawyer told lawmakers he screenshots messages to preserve them.
Cummings wants details by April 4.
But her emails though
Although the Department of Justice makes final decisions on matters like this, we are expressing to Justice our view that no charges are appropriate in this case.
Although there is evidence of potential violations regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.
In looking back into our investigations into the mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts.
All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of information exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here.
No outside influence of any kind was brought to bear.
Case closed.
