Oh look another one who pretends the FBI isn’t embedded in those groups even though the fbi claims they are collectively a worse security threat than ISIS.

Yeah, they did. What so shocking about that? These organizations are run by people who barely understand how the internet works.

Its always someone else fault never Republicans.
First they are angry that the FBI caused January 6th. Now they are saying the FBI is incompetent for not having caught the seditioners beforehand.
Its almost as if they are throwing anything against the wall…
Hard to tell which it was when the FBI won’t answer questions.

Especially when they have been caught conspiring against Trump and his associates.
Jezcoe:
Would you say that maybe a plot does not require you to act. It is the act of conspiring, in this case to commit sedition?
Well, yes and no. You’re not far off.
You are correct that in any sort of “conspiracy” offense, the act bring criminalized is the conspiring. But in the US, in almost all cases, a crime of conspiracy requires an overt act in furtherance of that conspiracy.
I don’t know if it’s accurate to call the target offense “sedition,” either - the target offenses are laid out in the statute, and don’t fit the definition of “sedition.”
So would you say that the act of training, gathering weapons and attacking the Capitol was what brought about the charge by if they had simply talked about doing such things they would have not been charged with this crime?

Missing the word allegedly.
Feds say they conspired seditiously. Just in. Their attorneys said they are not guilty! My conclusion: wait for a court to,decide.

Sure.
But they do have the recordings of their conversations on Jan 6, their communications, the social media posts where they talked about the crimes, the pictures on social media where they showed the weapons cache and the video of them moving not very well disguised weapons into the motel.
So yes … allegedly…. But they have a ton of evidence that allowed them to bring this charge.

Has anybody on this forum said this one-eyed Destroyer of Republics should not go to jail?
The difference- in this discussion- is that the idea of a seditious conspiracy needs to be fought in favor of lesser charges. Because these charges now show to the world what the Right has been trying to fight- that it wasn’t simply a riot, or some people getting spontaneously out of hand- but involved people conspiring to overthrow the Republic.
The Right has been almost completely silent on the idea that the Republic was threatened and that elements of the Right are fine with that. By not voicing those concerns, many conservatives look like they are tacitly, if not overtly- supporting those aims.
Ummm…we’re talking about a group of about what, 11 idiots. And you think that indicates the republic was threatened?
The article says that as soon as the members of this alleged conspiracy hit the Capitol building they all wandered around on their own to different parts of the Capitol.
“Republic was threatened”. Sheesh. These clowns may have broken laws, but no, they did not put the Republic at risk.
They will buy anything. They even bought into Schiff’s claim that he had evidence and plenty of it of Russian “Collusion”. ![]()

Why should the FBI answer question not based in reality.

There was 180 case of domestic terrorism in 2020.
300 + cases of political related violence in 2020.
clearly nothing serious.
At that point people start to notice it’s a sham, so probably not.
I think it’s more politics as usual to keep a narrative away from a failing presidency. I have seen over my years from both sides. I am just hoping with the Russia/Ukraine thing going on we don’t have a wag the dog moment.
It seems the Democrat dupes in this thread have learnt nothing from the lies they fell for when they were spun we’ve-got-him-now Russia Collusion and Ukraine abuse of power narratives via selective leaks of out-of-context facts or outright lies through the politicized DoJ and FBI.
Here you are again, eating up the laid out crumbs to lead you to the intended political conclusion. Will you never learn, Jezcoe?

You did realize that these are actual indictments with tons of evidence behind them… right?

Who is laying the charges? Do they have a record of political bias and indictments ending up as minor process crimes seeking unprecedented inflated sentences for pro-Trump conservatives?
Who is laying the charges?
The DOJ- an actual jury will get to decide though.
Samm:
Conduct is an action.
“Inciting” is more of the problem, Constitutionally.
Can you think of an example of conduct that could incite people to rebel, that isn’t itself a crime, but you think would be an example of criminal sedition?
There is no crime of “sedition” in this country, aside from “seditious conspiracy.”
Then folks here should quit claiming that people have been charged with sedition, shouldn’t they.

Does seditious conspiracy sound less treasonous to you?
