They were inches away from getting to many of the people in congress. For all the failures that occurred that day, the Capital Police were able to protect the people they were supposed to protect.
What do you think would have happen if they did get to Pelosi, or Pence, or Romney, or any of the other potential targets?
It could have been a lot worse.
That being said, if that did happen, there would be people defending that too.

But I think we can agree, it would not have been good. The events of the 6th, put a crack in our democratic republic. If anything bad happen to any of the pols that day, that crack would have been a lot bigger.

I disagree.
Trump was out of bounds with the election challenge.
I do think it was instructive and a balance to counter the unchecked protests from the summer…especially those against federal or municipal properties. It would have been far better to just stay outside the Capitol and yell until it got dark and then go home…better message.

The left is not panicking about Sen Johnson’s stupidity.
There is simply no proof in this article that the provocateurs were false flag. The author states this and repeats it several times, but there is no proof.
In addition, many of the people being arrested have long social media histories filled with Trump support, white nationalism, and Qanon.
Further, the author of the Federalist article which is the basis of this 2nd article Is that the Centre for Security Policy a right wing think tank. The betrays the bias that you decry in standard media but are more than willing to accept here.
And finally regarding the 2nd linked article: it relates the experiences of Michael Yon, “America’s most experienced foreign correspondent”. But once again, Yon fails to offer any proof, only his observation.
