so they had a good three years.

Lower Canada banned slavery in 1799.

Slavery was never that popular in Canada because Canada lack the climate for large scale farming at the time most of Canadian economy was based on trapping large scale farming didn’t really develop in Canada till we expanded west.

now if you don’t know what trapping was it was when groups of men would travel into wilderness and trap beavers and other animals and sell their furr this was a hardblood of the Canadian society, economy till industrialization.

New York Times Opinion tweeted out a controversial video two days before Independence Day, which made an argument against America’s greatness and status as a Shining City on a Hill. It called U.S. greatness a myth and hit a number of common left-wing talking points, dropping sarcastic lines like, “But we have freedom in America, and everyone’s jealous, or something” and ” The truth is, how great America is really depends on how rich you are.”

Today, the Trump Campaign released a campaign video based on Trump’ July 4th rally.

Democrats don’t object to the 4th… Democrats celebrate it.

Democrats object to the Republicans using taxpayer money to arrange the set for a campaign video. And everyone who cares about out of control government spending should agree.

Democrats object to cordoning off a third of the National Mall so that what has traditionally been a bi-partisan Holiday can only be attended by those invited by the RNC. Democrats believe in the notion that since all men are created equal, all people should have the same rights and access to public spaces. Republicans believe in picking favorite among groups and playing one group off against another.

Abraham Lincoln wouldn’t have endorsed any of Trump’s shenanigans. I have always admired the brief speech he made from the White House balcony a few days before he was killed, asking a band on the lawn to play “Dixie” and observing how much he had missed that song during the war. That was the action of a Republican who believed in reaching out to all people. But he was a very different type of Republican than today’s party.

Well, technically Trump though America was great at some point in the past - hence the slogan make America great AGAIN.

But the point is a good one. I personally have always though America was a great nation. Not sure why Trump had such low confidence in America.

It has it’s problems (such as a president who doesn’t think it is great), but I love living in America.
