Issues with editing and replying

it is probably an ad blocker or something else but whenever i try to edit a post or hit reply and start typing i get additional white space under the post. I will give an example in the next post

Great no issue here lol

Let me try now

Yeah it works here. I will take a screen shot in another thread

See the empty space?

Could be the new IOs sad face.

Try to reproduce the issue without the ad blocker.

Tested no work.

Has to be the new ios but it’s weird that it is happening in safari and chrome

Hi everyone.

So this is def an issue with the new ios. When scrolling through a site. The address bar (top or bottom) compacts itself creating an issue with text boxes. Putting the address bar to top or turning off compact doesn’t work. Waiting for next update. Until then:

Yeah I have the exact same problem. It must be something with Safari. They must have changed some of the ways it handles HTML5 and it’s not playing nice with the forum sometimes.

Updates to iOS 26 and now its much more difficult to post a message. If anyone discovere a workaround please post it.

Only real workaround I found is to type in your post, then reload the page. It saves what you typed but it makes it possible to hit the reply button after doing that.

It has really been Linux time for some time.

Phones too.

i had to clear cache history etc

of course this all happened at the very same plank time as i was looking through settings to turn on dark background so i thought i hit a setting somewhere

The issues with the positioning of the cursor in the reply box continue; however, I did find this topic over on the discourse tech forum which gives some more information on the issue.

26.0.1. Didn’t do it. Let’s see when we get to the next one

I find that if I try harder, it works.

I see the non-issue. I didn’t update to 26. I guess I’ll wait until you Guinea pigs get done trialing this latest wave before jumping on.

The one time I didn’t wait an excessively long time to install the latest update and I get screwed!

I usually wait a couple or even a few months for this exact reason, bugs.

The discourse tram on their message board have confirmed that in the iOS 26.1 beta the issue is fixed, this update should be released any day now

6 months after that, we too shall bask in the glory of an edit function.
