Is the Coronavirus panic really necessary?

I have not mentioned anything about a political party, you are desperately flailing now :joy:

Really poor effort on your part.

:+1:

Have a good day; don’t get to tired carrying the “hoax” water buckets.

How can we make money off of short sells if we don’t induce panic?

According to the New England journal of Medicine, this may not be any worse than the flu.

My school, a member of NAIS, already has sent a memo to the community, essentially saying that in the event of school closure, we will focus on distance learning.

And another editorial in the New England Journal of a Medicine;

Yes he did

Well, this sucks. The damn mailman in Washington tested positive. WTH.

At least he’s not hand delivering packages door to door.

Good article.

The quoted text of what he actually said proves otherwise. Why do you folks insist on continuing to repeat a lie?

Indeed. Very little chance of transmitting it to anyone he didn’t come into direct contact with.

Because it isnt a lie.

Did he say the virus itself was a hoax? Nope

But he did say the media attention to it was a hoax. And it’s not. It is a very real situation and people have lost their lives, and many more people could die of it.

Only reason Trump doesnt like it is people called attention to his lackluster handling of the situation, and that he cant now bloviate on twitter every day about how great the stock market is doing.

It’s all about ego with him and it chaps his hide.

No, what he said was perfectly accurate is that the over hyping of it and fear mongering is a hoax.

What specific measures could the administration have taken that they haven’t which would have improved the situation?

Be specific and tell us how it would have made a difference.

No it really isnt.

If that’s what you wanna go on record with fine by me. It can be the new $7 a gallon of gas failure of statement that gets ridiculed.

Yes it really is. Sowing panic is the worst thing we could do right now.

When people panic they refuse to follow basic quarantine and isolation protocols making an outbreak exponentially worse.

Why dont you tell everyone. Arent you the one who is suggesting quarantines?

74 cases in the US right now as of the most recent article I read, and that is only the beginning.

I can already see it now, if this thing becomes serious here in the US, talk radio and Trump himself will be blaming the media for it. In fact you already suggested as much is the previous reply.

We initiated quarantines for everyone suspected of having it as soon as people started returning from China. The quarantine protocols were in place before they were even allowed to return.

So far there have only been two incidents where the person passing it was unknown.

I would have initiated quarantines earlier if I was in charge but that would have been deemed unnecessary and democrats would have been wailing and screaming about civil rights violations just like they did when the Nurse that was positive for Ebola refused quarantine.

No, as to your last I didn’t suggest it but panic will absolutely make it worse.

The only people I see panicked at the moment are stock traders, but that happens a lot for a variety of reasons.

It’s not like companies are telling their employees to remain at home, and walmart has completely run out of hand sanitizer.

CV is getting elevated press coverage right now because it is current news and has the potential to become a serious public danger.
