I think I see the issue here… we’re having to completely different conversations. I’m arguing from the perspective that the purpose of the stimulus checks is to help stimulate the economy. You’re arguing from the perspective that they are essentially welfare checks, and they are, in a sense, since they also are going out to help people who need assistance buying food and paying rent.
The frustrating thing here is that you don’t seem willing to admit it. As I’ve said before… if your argument was simply, they are undeserving of the checks because they are illegal immigrants, then I would fully accept that… but instead you insist on arguing that these checks are incapable of stimulating the economy and when I press you on this asking you to explain the logic here you start obfuscating about symbolic cupboards filled with some intangible American product that is somehow not traditional goods and services or money in our treasury.

Are you serious? You’ve been reading our full conversation and you came away with me being the one engaging in silly crap? There’s nothing I need to “snap out of”. He’s the one accusing me of deflection whenever I ask him a question. He’s the one that keeps posting pictures of people rolling their eyes instead of actually engaging in a conversation with me. It’s all very one sided. I know he’s smart enough to understand what the purpose of stimulus but he appears to be too stubborn to admit that his issue has nothing to do with stimulus being ineffective when its given to illegal immigrants and that he simply doesn’t want them getting stimulus checks.
He’s intentionally ignoring the fact that when it comes to the purpose of stimulating the economy it doesn’t matter the legal status of the person spending the money as long as the money is being spent here in the US buying goods and services from Americans. And he’s also intentionally ignoring the fact that the reasons he claims are the reasons why illegal immigrants shouldn’t get stimulus checks would also apply to many Americans who live in poverty.
