Is politics/government the only arena in which very ordinary, average and often downright unimpressive people are lauded as something special?

Then your comparison pool is invalid. The worst player in any pro sport is better than almost everybody else in the world, true.

But he is still the worst player in his pool. Less than mediocre.

Out of all the candidates for first time mayor, where does Mamdani rank?

Very rarely, if ever, are those on the bench venerated by the masses. I’m talking about the Tom Brady’s, LeBron James’, Michael Jordan’s, etc.

I personally don’t think telling a lot of gullible people what they want to hear makes one talented.

Until they get they’re chance.

James doesn’t belong on that list.

In politics?

Well yes, but one thing these people have learned to do is tell good stories.

They read the room well.

And they know how to game the system.

Do you have a lot of admiration and respect for people with ostensibly the unique talent of offering “free stuff” to the gullible and often ignorant masses?

Nothing new, unique or genuinely gifted about someone coming along and offering “free stuff”.

No. What an odd question.

Do you have a lot of admiration and respect for people with the talent to convince gullible and always ignorant masses that they’re being invaded, there’s going to be a healthcare plan, an election was stolen?
