For those who study human behavior one will notice this propensity of large groups of people to essentially venerate a particular individual. This is typically common in the areas of sports, music, and entertainment. With sports for example those who make it to top levels have to be tremendously talented. In other venues like music and entertainment talent does play a part although there are other factors as well. Nonetheless, people in these arenas who attain that celebrity level status are indeed venerated by the masses. Politics is indeed another area though in which large groups of people will develop a tendency to venerate a particular individual. Consider the Democrats new star Zohran Mamdani:
*As he rides an affordability-focused platform to national super-stardom, the overnight sensation reminds some political observers of another telegenic young politician, this one an Illinois state senator who skyrocketed to fame 20 years ago. *
“He is, like a young Obama, very compelling, has a great back story,” political analyst Ross Barkan said. “He has a real charm, a way with people. He has great social media, but you need the charm to make the social media work.”
For those of us who dare to ask logical questions the befuddlement becomes apparent. What exactly is so impressive about individuals like him, or Obama, or pretty much any other politician? With Mamdani what is so impressive about his life? Did he develop numerous businesses? Does he have any great inventions? Has he cured any deadly illnesses? Many in the media love to sing the praises of some these so-called “fresh new faces” while trying to push the nonsense that they are bringing with them “new ideas”. The tenants of Socialism and Communism are hardly new and have been tried many times throughout the course of human history with largely lousy results.
Well for many another savior has come along bringing with him hope for another promised “better day”. Here’s a question, with all the other past saviors that have come and gone how many people’s lives have been dramatically changed for the better and are not just largely stuck in the same rut they always been?
If you want to discuss why people like Charlie Kirk, Rush Limbaugh are venerated by many, well that’s in the premise of the OP. Now I don’t see them as politicians per say as I would put them more in the venue of media/entertainment. Now in that venue one can clearly argue the level of talent they possessed to attain their celebrity status which I also alluded to in the OP.
What sort of unique form of intelligence has he demonstrated? Did he develop a cure for a particular illness? Does he have a great invention that is changing the lives of people thoroughout the world?
