Is Biden off the ballot in Ohio?

Biden nomination isn’t until Aug 22nd, Ohio law says it has to be official by Aug 7th. So technically Biden deadline to file as a candidate for the general election ballot is August 7th.

Governor Mike DeWine said the legislature needs to make the fix.

Not sure what federal courts can do…it deserves lib right if Ohio refuses to budge.

Seems like state legislation is telling em to pound sand.

Why do you think it serves libs right if he is left off? Because of the whole Colorado and Maine thing?

I don’t think this ballot situation is new or honestly that controversial.

Despite the lack of a legislative solution, both Ohio leaders said they are confident Biden will be on the ballot in November.

Russo said at this point, she believes the solution will come from within the national Democratic Party or through legal action.

Apparently this same issue was corrected without incident in deep red Alabama. I’m pretty sure the voters in Ohio will be able to vote for Biden in November.

That but most importantly you libs think laws and regulations don’t apply to em…and expect repugs to cave into their demands.

Trivial enough matter for a Federal Court to “toll” the deadline.

Biden will be on the ballot, regardless of what the legislature might think.

The deadline is unreasonable anyhow. This country has had major party conventions in September in the past.

I don’t read this as being a demand on the part of the Ohio legislature. Both houses were trying to figure out a solution and the political will wasn’t there.

Typical for this century.

I’m not wrong, the law is.

Oh now you want federal law to step in to override state law/legislation.

Interesting.

Seems like this sort of thing would have been worked out ages ago. I don’t understand why it’s suddenly an issue this year.

It is undisputed that the Federal Government can override State Legislation in regards to the conduct of Federal Elections.

A Federal Court may certainly toll the deadline as necessary to permit a candidate to be on the ballot.

And anyways, Republicans aren’t particularly worried about Ohio, so not a real big deal anyhow.

How your tone changed.

I get the sense that it’s an issue every year that eventually gets worked out. Election issues and stories like this are getting more play because people don’t care about the actual issues of this election. Just the partisanship.

I think this is the time republicans in Ohio to stand firm instead of doing what libs always expected of them.

Wow. One more thing libs can’t get right.

They always do it…and insist states follow suit. Hopefully Ohio republicans tell em to pound sand.

Biden isn’t going to win Ohio…but if he’s off the ticket it will effect down ballots and senate race.

So hopefully republicans put their foot down.
