The statement was part of a word salad about things that labs might investigate. But media did their damnedest to convince people that Trump actually suggested to inject disinfectants.
“Trump did not specifically recommend ingesting disinfectants, but he did express interest in exploring whether disinfectants could be applied to the site of a coronavirus infection inside the body, such as the lungs.”

Well, his lies about having no knowledge of his sons business or business partners at least had a devious purpose to it. Of course, it was still stupid as there were photos of him with the business partners, records of them going to the White House, one of them did his finances and he had dinner with the Russia client who gave his son millions for…reasons. He was obviously going to get caught.
