Inequality cannot be "Fixed"

That is also an opportunity, or the lack of one.

Ha ha ha ha! Oh you were joking

It’s all government dude. Centgov.

Thank God. For good government…I prefer the 21st century to the 19th. I’m pretty sure all black people do as well.

Then what are you basing your claim on?

This is where socialist criticisms of capitalism sound like criticisms foowing the other direction. Socialists think wealth belongs to those who labor to create. Their critics think that labor’s product belongs to the laborer. The difference is that the socialists think the capitalists are recipients of wealth thry did not create.

I think if everything is being equal…yes.

How is a kid from project with crack addicted mother any different then a kid in rural Alabama with meth addiction mom?

My experiences. That five minute drive.

What are you basing your conclusion on?

I’m sure they do as well. I agree government is better. Do you agree it is too intrusive?

But that’s not what we are comparing. Do you think a poor kid from the projects has the same opportunity as a rich kid from Kennebunkport?

For starters, they both have less opportunity than a rich kid from the Napa Valley attending Catholic school.

They were born into their outcomes.

Thank heavens for an intrusive government. I’m not fond of child labor laws, blacks, women and minorities not being able to vote, segregation, child labor laws, slavery. Government is awesome!

Based on my sense that we can still do more?

I think that it is easy to forget all of the good things that government has done, especially when the bitterness of paying taxes pops up every single year as a negative reminder.

Conservatives spend so much energy trying to say government is the problem that I thought it might be helpful to remind them why government is so frigging awesome.

They are also societal.

I think that it is usually a good idea to give credit where credit is due, instead of ignoring it.

No. Does a poor kid from rural PA have have the same opportunity as Will Smith kids?

We are comparing applies to applies not applies to oranges.

This I agree.

No- they don’t. And economic inequality should be addressed as well as inequalities that happen due to race. Our progressive taxation system is probably the best example of trying to even the economic playing field.
