Excellent. The compromise would likely be an amnesty. Wasn’t it Obama who refused to agree to enhanced enforcement insisting that we needed a comprehensive immigration reform bill?
Don’t incarcerate someone for a misdemeanor.
Instead of keeping illegal parents here and separating them from their children, simply return the whole family to Mexico or wherever they are from.
Then we would not have to set up special living quarters for holding the children and causing them any trauma.

It happens every day in every jurisdiction in the country when parents are arrested and jailed on misdemeanor charges.

And then the parent is bonded out in a day or so… What percentage of misdemeanor offenses would you say result in arrests in this country? Just a rough guess…

They aren’t all bonded out. If you are considered to be a flight risk you can be held until trial for even minor offenses.
About 5 million people are arrested for misdemeanors and minor felonies each year.

Someone who is a citizen and who lives in a town they have lived in all their life is going to go where if they are bonded out? What percentage of them will become anonymous and disappear under a fake identity?
Someone who is arrested for entering the country illegally is going to do what if they are bonded out? They don’t show up to be deported, much less risk going to jail.
