Immigrants and crime: A foundational lie

If those weren’t ■■■■ hole countries people would not be fleeing them in droves.

That’s Trumpsplainin…

He should have made it more clear in his tweets. He is horrible at the English language.

If he is talking about just illegal immigrants then why is he talking about merit based policy? If you are illegal you have no merit.

Seriously?

Merit based immigration means ending chain migration. Again, we’ve been discussing this since he started running so no one can honestly say they don’t understand the context of that tweet.

Trump platform on immigration.

Thanks! The problem is no one reads this PDF. His tweets are what is front and center.

If Trump is going to use his presidential platform to push policy, he should grasp the English language better. Not to mention is outright lying.

You made the statement that no one conflates legal immigrants with illegal immigrants and I showed you 2 tweets from Trump today that… without some major trumpsplaining… seem to suggest he is talking about all immigrants.

Why would this be shocking to you that he talking about all immigrants? When he came down from his golden escalator is 2015 he broad brushed Mexicans as rapists and criminals (didn’t say illegal). Said a Mexican judge could not be fair to him because he is Mexican.

Why is this so hard to believe?

You showed me two tweets taken out of context and intentionally misrepresented them pretending you have never heard any of the preceding discussions.

Taken out of context? How so?

Did he mention illegal immigration at all? He kept saying “those people” “invade” “stop crime” …what people?

Even if I could assume he is talking about illegal immigrants… I would still have a problem. In the same tweet you brought as evidence he is talking about a merit based system… which only applies the legal immigrants.

Either Trump is horrible at the English language or he means all immigrants

Or which is the most likely, you are going to intentionally misrepresent what he’s saying on the subject no matter what he says.

The context for those tweets is the entire immigration debate we’ve been having in this country since he started running and we all know it.

Trump conflates unrelated issues all of the time(just a few weeks ago he declared his innocence based on an IG report that had nothing to do with him). What has he done for you to make you give him the benefit of the doubt on these tweets?

Shouldn’t he be more clear?

He was clear, quit pretending otherwise.

Real numbers that can’t be refuted, illegals and crime.

  1. Illegal immigrants accounted for nearly 75 percent of federal drug sentences in 2014. This is according to the United States Sentencing Commission, which also found that illegals were involved in nearly 17 percent of drug-trafficking sentences and over 33 percent of federal sentences overall.

  2. A disproportionate amount of illegals are in state prisons. Peter Kirsanow, a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and a lawyer, reviewed statistics from the Government Accountability Office and Pew Research Center and compared the number of illegals and non-illegals imprisoned for murder-related offenses in a 2015 National Review piece. Some of his findings:

There were 68.57 illegal aliens imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in Arizona, compared to 54.06 citizens and legal noncitizens imprisoned for every 100,000 citizens and legal noncitizens.

There were 97.2 illegals imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in California, compared to 74.1 citizens and legal noncitizens imprisoned per 100,000 citizen and legal noncitizens.
There were 54.85 illegals imprisoned for every 100,00 illegals in Florida, compared to 67.8 legal immigrants imprisoned for every 100,000 legal immigrants.
There were 168.75 illegals imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in New York, compared to 48.12 legal immigrants imprisoned for every 100,000 legal immigrants.
There were 54.54 illegals imprisoned for every 100,000 illegals in Texas, compared to 65.43 legal immigrants .

Kirsanow acknowledged that while comparing murder incarceration rates isn’t a perfect measurement, “it’s difficult to contend that illegal aliens are more law-abiding than legal residents — at least when it comes to major crimes.” But the more disturbing fact was that “approximately 2,430 illegal aliens are in prison just for homicide-related offenses” in California alone.

And a bit more from the same article.

David Frum of The Atlantic, no hard-core immigration opponent, wrote in 2015 that as of 2011, there were 25,000 illegal immigrants serving murder sentences, and nearly 3 million offenses committed by illegal immigrants between 2003 and 2009, including 70,000 sex crimes and hundreds of thousands of other violent crimes. “After years of welcome decline,” Frum pointed out, “crime rates are rising in immigration hubs including Houston, Milwaukee, Phoenix, and San Diego.” Former Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo reported in 2015 that between “2008 and 2014, 40% of all murder convictions in Florida were criminal aliens. In New York it was 34% and Arizona 17.8%. During those years, criminal aliens accounted for 38% of all murder convictions in the five states of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York, while illegal aliens constitute only 5.6% of the total population in those states.

Percentage of Illegal aliens in Federal Prisons? 25%

According to the Government Accountability Office, the percent of inmates in federal prisons who are in the country illegally. The GAO also found that criminal illegal aliens were arrested an average of 7 times. (Source: GAO)

That is more than ten times their percentage of the US population.

Report: Illegal Immigrants Account for Roughly 75 Percent of Drug Possession Cases and 30 Percent Of All Federal Sentencings

A little discussed report by the United States Sentencing Commission has been released with an astonishing figure: Of the more than 2,200 people who received federal sentences for drug possession in fiscal year 2014, almost three-quarters of them were illegal immigrants. In addition, illegal immigrants reportedly made up more than one-third of all federal sentences for all crimes.

Unfortunately, the comments of Donald Trump have sucked the oxygen out of the public debate on the significance of such crime trends. According to new data from the United States Sentencing Commission. While crimes by illegal immigrants are slightly down (38.6 percent of all federal sentencings in 2013 but 36.7 percent in 2014), they still represent a huge percentage of such offenses in the federal system given that they represent an estimated 3.5 percent of the U.S population. There is available data from the states, though individual states likely have figures.

This includes 20 percent of the kidnapping/hostage taking sentences in 2014 and 12 percent of the murder sentences. Another 19.4 percent of national-defense related sentences are attributed to illegal immigrants.

If you combine both illegal and legal aliens, the population represents almost half of all sentences — 42 percent of all federal sentencing in 2014.

Now again, these refer to people sentenced to Federal Prisons, not just illegals getting slapped with a 10.00 fine when they are deported.

This report is a bit dated but it’s very informative. It gets into the nitty gritty on illegals and crime and it also covers crime rates of legal immigrants as well.

Both are substantially higher than the native population.

And current numbers from the DOJ with respect to federal prisoners.

94% of aliens currently held in federal prisons are in the country illegally, according to a new report from the Department of Justice.

“Nearly 95 percent of confirmed aliens in our federal prisons are here illegally. We know based on sentencing data that non-citizens commit a substantially disproportionate number of drug-related offenses, which contributes to our national drug abuse crisis,” said Sessions.

“The simple fact is that any offense committed by a criminal alien is ultimately preventable. One victim is too many. It’s time for Congress to enact the president’s immigration reform agenda so that we start welcoming the best and brightest while turning away drug dealers, gang members, and other criminals,”he added.

The report also details the number of “known or suspected” illegal aliens in federal jails as 58,766, which accounts for 31% of all federal prisoners. This number is up from the previously reported statistic of 25% as reported several years ago.

The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons in fiscal year 2010 was about 55,000, and the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails was about 296,000 in fiscal year 2009 (the most recent data available), and the majority were from Mexico. The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons increased about 7 percent from about 51,000 in fiscal year 2005 while the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails increased about 35 percent from about 220,000 in fiscal year 2003. The time period covered by these data vary because they reflect updates since GAO last reported on these issues in 2005. Specifically, in 2005, GAO reported that the percentage of criminal aliens in federal prisons was about 27 percent of the total inmate population from 2001 through 2004.

Now if we figure an average cost of 34,000.00 a year for each of the 351,000 criminal illegals housed in Federal, State, and Local jails and prisons that’s an annual cost of 11,934,00.00.

Of course, that’s nothing compared to what we spend on the other 12- 15 million illegals in the country in welfare benefits and providing public services for them such as schooling and healthcare.

GAO link for the send half of the above post.

Right. Crimes against illegals rarely get reported.

Very good sneaky.

You are learning.

Allan

Dover, New Jersey has low crime.

No murders in the town since…I can’t remember.

Worse thing is the car horn blowing when either Mexico or Columbia win a World Cup game. That’s agony.

Allan

Well that’s nowhere near accurate.

What is the percentage of illegal aliens living in Dover?

Chances of crime of a violent crime 1 in 537.

Now I ask you, what about were you live? (Or the closest city)

Betcha it is way higher.

Allan

Between 10 and 20% are illegals.
