It is really interesting how a lot of Trump Republicans believe that the CIA and the FBI are basically corrupt while at the same time believing that ICE is a very well run Federal agency.
I know this is hard for you to grasp, but I donât want Trump to resign.
He is the gift that is going to keep on giving.
I am just saying what would be in his best interest, not what will happen. This is precisely what you describe, just a thought exercise.
You are talking as if the last few years havenât happened and that the Dems are above the level of vitriol we have seen from the POTUS the last few years.
I canât guarantee that they will rise above, there are some hard feelings out there.
I know. Iâm just saying the exercise is based on his fear of being prosecuted. In his world, that fear doesnât exist, so the premise becomes faulty. Besides, the Gaggle of Hens are going to be the Râs ticket to winning the presidency and making gains in both houses.
I know theyâre not above any level of vitriol. Weâre counting on it.
Cleaning up ICE, healthcare, Iran, how green should the New Deal be, ⌠all the things that will win them the election will take precedence.
(Note that Trump isnât much more of a crony crook than any other politician. More open (clumbsy?) about it. But not more crooked. No politician in DC, of either party, wants the DOJ to actually get into the business of prosecuting corruption.)
I donât see Donald going to jail, period. This thought exercise depends on elected officials moving to prosecute/punish the corruption of another elected official. Hits a little too close to home for most of them, and sets a dangerous precedent.
With the Democratic party having been moving further to the left over the last several months, I now want the Republicans to keep the Senate during the 2020 elections. But with Trump being on top of the ballot during the 2020 elections, it will make it more difficult for them to keep the Senate during the 2020 elections.
Beat me to it.
I think making gains in both houses would be difficult for the GOP with Trump at the head of the ticket, but I have been wrong before.
The Mueller testimony was striking to me in regards to the obstruction charges. Dems systematically addressed five of the charges and had Mueller agree that the 3 criteria that an obstruction charge needs were met in these 5 instances. They continually put out there the fact that he could be charged once he was no longer President.
I donât see why they would continue to pound that fact home if they werenât thinking of pursuing it if Trump loses.
Thatâs cool. Dusty Springfield foretold of trumps love affair with Kim years ago:
Wishinâ and hopinâ and thinkinâ and prayinâ
Planninâ and dreaminâ each night of his charms
That wonât get you into his arms
So if youâre lookinâ to find love you can share
All you gotta do is hold him and kiss him and love him
And show him that you care
Show him that you care just for him
Do the things he likes to do
Wear your hair just for him, âcause
You wonât get him
Thinkinâ and a-prayinâ, wishinâ and a-hopinâ
They should bury him honestly. Cheating pile of â â â â he isâŚ
And the GOP should be run out of town for being ok with having Russias help, looking the other way at trumps corruption and illegal actions.
2 1/2 years of Mueller investigation ending in the âtestimonyâ of âWell, if itâs in the report, then itâs correct.â has Americans scratching their heads wondering why. Why the expense? Why the show? Why no impeachment if damning as dems claim? Democrats will come away looking ineffective and then desperate if they press at a later date. Their window of opportunity is closing, if it hasnât already, and this will bear out next November.
He was also part owner of and on the board of Cambridge Analytica.
Dusty was a great singer! The song more properly would fit the premise of the OP.
Just wishin and hopin.
Donât be surprised if Arizona Republicans lose another Senate seat with Trump still out there.

Nah. Itâs a love song. Donald is in love.
I know he is not one to admit defeat, but honestly I think that if Trump looked ahead at the big picture, his best move at this point would be to resign. And I mean this year.
It would be the worst thing for the Democrats and the best thing for the GOP and himself.
Hereâs why.
First, I donât think he ever imagined winning. He is ill suited to the job, doesnât seem to enjoy it, and I imagine he would much rather run his business than have to deal with Pelosi and the endless scrutiny he is now facing.
Second, he needs an out. If he loses in 2020 he will be going to jail for the rest of his life, if not by the DOJ certainly by the SDNY. What he needs is a pardon, and to do that he needs to walk away and have Pence become President. Pence can then pardon him in the same way Ford pardoned Nixon.
Now, he can gamble and try to win in 2020 and then just resign if he loses and have Pence pardon him during the lame duck period. But the GOP would certainly want a chance to win in 2020 if the numbers are looking bad for him by putting up someone more palatable to the voters. Resigning this year allows the GOP to either bolster Pence or generate additional candidates and debates for public consumption. This would also allow the GOP a better chance to hold the Senate.
If he actually wins in 2020, he can then be impeached, which he almost certainly will be. The only reason Pelosi is holding off is because she feels the straighter path to getting him out of office is the 2020 election. That will not be the case should he win. Not only will he be a target so will his kids and his businesses. He will lose that which he actually cares about trying to keep a job he never wanted.
The only way he winds up walking out like a boss and then starting the next chapter of his life is to go out on his own terms, a legend to his followers. He can take what he has done and turn it into a successful media empire or even an entire takeover of the GOP with him as the kingmaker, free from scrutiny and making big bucks.
Do I think he would do that? No, the narcissism he suffers from doesnât allow him to admit defeat even when he wins as a result.
Your thoughts?
I think you are wrong about him not liking the job. I think he loves it more than any other in history. He doesnât really give a â â â â about the world or the country, only himself and attention. This feeds his sickness more than anything else possibly could. In fact you watch, he wonât age like other presidents because he feels absolutely NO pressure because he feels NO responsibility. Itâs all about him.
He will NEVER leave voluntarily.
My thoughts are this is just Trump hate wishful thinking or delusion!
It is most likely Arizona Republicans will lose another Senate seat with Trump still President in 2020. Trump is not that popular in Arizona here.
