If Trump is sentenced to jail time what would the Republican Party do?

I would assume that it’s almost certain that this judge will sentence Trump to some prison time as that would essentially ensure he would not have any shot at being reelected. Since the sentencing is before the convention (I believe) then that would put the RNC in a tough spot, would it not?

If he gets jail time I think he wins in a landslide. I doubt he gets any time in jail.

He would not be able to campain, I don’t see how that would benefit the Republican candidate.

Trump wants to go to jail. He loves playing the martyr.

I am sure the maga memes of Trump crucified on the cross will be emerging shortly.

Too funny. So where did you get your psychology degree from and where do you practice again?

He should have already been in jail several times over for contempt. Why should his special treatment run out now?

Its cons who talk about liberalism being a mental disorder and diagnosing Biden with all sorts of mental impairments. You never ask for their qualifications :grinning:.

Never said it was a medical diagnosis but he does love to play the victim. In fact that is what characterizes the right today. Everyone is out for them, the system is against them, wah wah wah.

It would inspire a massive turnout for him voting wise.

If the libs get by with this it will be the new norm.

He would be going to Rikers.

He doesn’t want to go there.

Look at those wet fantasies oozing out of the subfloors.

Trump is gonna go to prison… he’s gonna serve a single day…

Holy crap, some people’s (D)umbass children.

Hanging Judge Juan will sentence Trump to 34 consecutive terms. What other outcome does anyone expect considering how this chooch conducted the show trial.
Like the verdict, it’s all a foregone orchestrated conclusion. Sentencing will preclude a future appellate proceeding so hopes of the decision in the Manhattan district being overturned to save the day are just that, hopes. Chances are the NY appellate Court and the NY Supreme Court will uphold the lower court decision anyway despite the violations of constitutional rights and rule violations during the proceedings.
This jurist is either bought and paid for (likely) or just a downright ■■■■■■■ assclown.
Sending Trump to Rikers Island could be the last straw for a lot of people looking to his candidacy as a way to correct a lot of damage done to the country in the last 3.5 years. Considering the economic debacle facing millions of Americans thanks to OBiden recklessness and ineptitude policy, wouldn’t surprise me at all if some react to the jailing of Trump in a somewhat “demonstrably outspoken” manner.
I hope nobody gets hurt.

What planet did you just parachute in from? LOL
Joe Potato Head’s age related dementia and confusion is on full display every time they trot him out. Other than lamestream pundits and “Dr. Jilly” medical professionals with credentials out the wazoo say OBiden belongs on the beach staring at the water instead of being POTUS!
Hell, the Dimbulbcrats don’t even want him to run.

The dems are dying to see Trump in prison… they love it!

He will absolutely receive jail time, even if it’s only a week. Democrats won’t pass up the orange jumpsuit photo op.

Yep. Exactly what I was thinking.

He’s not going to prison. Chances are it’ll be fines and community service.

I’m not so sure about that. It is New York and democrat prosecutors.

If the polls show his support has collapsed, then he should withdraw. Electors are all pledged and it’s too late to switch. Would he withdraw for the good of the party and the country? No.
Wait for the polls in about a month. If half the country take this for a political trick there may even be a reverse backlash effect. If that happens, we may wind up with 100% motivated to get out and vote for Trump. If immediate prison time is set, there are many states that would not honor extradition.
The only sure loser in this is the credibility of the justic system.

Trump doesn’t think of himself as a mere martyr. Rather, he likes to think of himself as being like Jesus. We don’t need degrees in anything because he makes the comparison explicit:
