If Trump is sentenced to jail time what would the Republican Party do?

He would be able to campaign. He would have to avoid New York and certain blue states. Would DeSantis or Abbott extradite him? No.

No. That was Hur, in an official report to keep your boy out of jail.

Why wouldn’t the judge, whose a hardcore Democrat, not sentence him to jail time?

I don’t see how that would work, wouldn’t he be considered a fugitive and then wouldn’t the feds go after him no matter whete he is?

I think you are misreading the electorate. Outside of his hardcore base most Americans have a negative view of Trump. Over 70% didn’t want to see him or Biden run again. I don’t see how him sitting in a jail cell will help his reelection chances.

Constitution be damned - fealty to Trump is much more important.

Do you guys really not see what a joke you’ve turned “conservatism” into?

Dirty Donald is not going to prison. This time.

Low level felonies. Nonviolent. First time offender. Age of the defendent.

He doesn’t need anyone making his fake crucifix bigger :joy:

Good to see you’re consistent at cherry picking others responses. :+1: :clap:

You’re being kind. Hanging Judge Juan will sentence Trump to 34 conservative sentences.
The objective is to remove Trump from the ‘24 election.
Safe bet.

If you’re paying attention to how this works, the judge literally can’t do 34 consecutive sentences.

There will be no jail time unless Dirty Donald plays around.

A biden donor too it is being reported.

Kind of like using Hillary Clinton for a prosecutor.

No offense but i think you are the one mistaken.

Trump is quite popular except among dems and never trump rinos like Liz Cheney/mitt Romney.

I’ve been paying some attention but not obsessing. That judge did a lot of things during this case that was not just outside his purview but violation of rules and denying defendant of constitutional rights.
His sentencing will be no exception. So it has been instructed so it will be done.

Based on primary results that 70% estimated is waaay off by maybe 50%? Nikki Hayley garnered votes and she has thrown in with Trump; for now.

This. I’d sit out an election before I’d ever vote for a progressive candidate, but Trump hasn’t increased his base since 2020. I don’t believe this conviction, even if overturned, will sway independents. They’re more likely to stay home.

Shouldn’t “jail time” be predicated solely on the crime for which the felon has been convicted?
