I think I might be a liberal

Think about it. 50 years ago most of my core beliefs would have been considered to be classic liberal. What’s changed?

Power to the people.
Very limited accountability to the government.
Right to privacy.
Limited government interference in freedom.
Opposition to authoritarian rule.
Question authority.
Don’t trust government.
Stay out of foreign wars.
Freedom of thought.
Freedom of association.
Freedom of expression.

And probably more.

A quick heads up to the judgmental types out there. I’m not asking you if you believe my examples. And I will not be taking any tests you offer to prove it. But I will happily answer any questions regarding my beliefs.

Thanks!

I always tell everyone I’m a Conservative. Why? Because I believe in preserving the intentions in which this nation was founded on. That’s what makes me a Conservative.

When I came here years ago lot of people found that confusing.

I believe you have every right to practice your religion/faith…or not. Libs don’t believe in that. Libs demand goverment to replace your religion.

I believe in right to defend oneself from all intruders…whether it is individuals or goverment.

I believe in capitalism.

I believe in limiting goverment powers for maximum freedoms…libs do not. We see here all the time collective rule or majority rule unless they’re against it then they believe in liberalism. (Fake liberals) We know who you are.

Also notice I said freedoms.

Once goverment takes sides freedom dies.

And now we are seeing phases like liberal internationalism…beware of those. They’re trying to circumvent our Constitution using progressive internationalism to infringe our liberties/freedoms.

The Constitution and BoR’s is threat to authoritarianism.

Oh I could go on and on. But today’s libs are far cry from liberalism.

Now watch how libs react.

Right. But I would bet that you agree with most of my liberal ideas as well.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That’s me ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

think about it, 60 years ago, a liberal president cut the tax rates for the top tax payers (trickledown 20 years before Reagan)

It amazes me how much you guys loath liberals and then say things like the above proving you don’t actually understand those you loath.

They don’t actually loathe them. They don’t even know them. They loathe the caricature of them they made.

And since they’ve convinced themselves we are all liars, its impossible to correct their caricatures.

That statement is problematic.

It’s almost as ironic as MLK blvd being a high violence area in most cities. I believe Chris Rock was the comedian that said that.

I understand who and what fake liberals are…and they aren’t liberals.

Never mind.

I stopped here…

What?

Most Libs I know wants everyone to practice their religion… they just don’t want those religious beliefs to enter government.

Having lived on a MLK Street for about a year and a half at one point… I can confirm that the stereotype is not at all off base.

I lived on the “good” section of the street. My neighbors were old black folks, near downtown. Best kind of neighbors you could possibly have. When you went about a mile down though… It became really uncomfortable. Mainly because of two projects.

But I really liked my neighbors. They were all great people. Always cooking out. Learned how to properly grill from one of them.

It’s true on MLK Jr Blvd running through Berkeley and Oakland.

My condolences.

I think ‘questioning authority’ has continued, full throttle.
