The panty twisting from people upset about media-pumped poster-child non-criminals is just demonstration that the media are a powerful influence over them. Thousands upon thousands, many who absolutely ARE the “worst of the worst”, are now off the streets. So without doubt yes, even the whiners know they are safer, in contrast to the sarcastic thread title.
Of course any effort that large is going to get some who aren’t technically a threat to anyone. Those who complain about the small segment of non-criminals getting nabbed are, by implication, calling for the effort to end.
And those complainers, in my view, are pitiably manipulated.
Lawyers are demanding the release of a longtime Oregon resident arrested by Border Patrol while fighting a Washington state wildfire, saying Friday that the firefighter was already on track for legal status after helping federal investigators solve a crime against his family.
His arrest was illegal, the lawyers said, and violated Department of Homeland Security polices that say immigration enforcement must not be conducted at locations where emergency responses are happening
“DHS on Friday said that the two crews questioned on the day of the arrests were there cutting logs into firewood, in a support role; they were not assigned to actively combat the blaze, the statement said.”
Maybe now, hosts of illegals will truly delve into the process. Shot across the bow. Hopefully they’re smart enough to recognize, “There, but for the grace of God, go I.”
Not these individuals. It’s negotiating immigration laws in congress and then ignoring them that needs to come to an end. And as how it negatively affects those who willingly broke our laws, any resulting problems are on them.
