Hard to answer that. The article was lengthy enough, but neglected to tell what crime his wife committed to get her green card revoked. Nor did it state why she had failed to turn that green card into citizenship.

Misdemeanor tells what the penalty was. It does not tell what the crime was. The obvious thing would have been to tell what the crime was…unless it wouldn’t have fit the narrative.
It doesn’t matter. All misdemeanors are minor offenses.
