trump thinks he’s just going to show up, get Kim to “like” him, be chummy, deal done. I wouldn’t be surprised if we become part of the NK after trump is done with this. Kim must be rubbing his hands with glee.

But it really illustrates a certain divide in the US, doesn’t it? Thomas Frank has written about a version of it. Generally, liberals are in the thrall of expertise, data, empiricism, “homework,” and all the traditional, diligent, conscientious, blah blah blah stuff. And this may be part of their problem. Trump, like (in some ways) Bush before him, says: ■■■■ all that ■■■■■■■■ ■■■■ you. I go with my gut. This is simple. It’s about dominance. Swagger. Visceral stuff.

I never said he has some High Level Strategic thinking going you assume that is what I mean.
I am just saying that in business Trump had all the information he needed in board meetings and knew what was going on.
I do agree that I think his MSGing is really messed up in his Administration.
You have absolutely no way of knowing that. trump had the luxury of hiring the necessary expertise. The messed up messaging is a symptom.
Actually we do because people who have worked with Trump have said that he would sit on the board meetings and know what was going on and have the facts of the deal that he needed. It has been spoken of by people in the past who have worked for him and with him.
So one could make a logical conclusion just as simply as you all do that he is an Idiot that he will get himself prepared for the meeting when he needs too.
There are people who have said the opposite. Who’s correct?

Interviews from people who worked with him in the past way before he was running for president.
But there are plenty of examples that illustrate the exact opposite as well. Both from people who have worked with him, and from his own statements. Like @reflechissez pointed out, from his own mouth in depositions.
In taking the whole of information available, I tend to disagree that he was very well informed on the specific details of any deal he worked on. Most accounts, even ones generous to him, suggest he was more of a big picture guy, and left the details and important information to his underlings. Not exactly a great trait to posses when it comes to being the leader of the free world getting ready to engage in bilateral negotiations where millions of lives could hang in the balance.

Well, we are talking about a guy who is so stupid, he bankrupted casinos. Casinos, plural. You know, casinos, where the percentages of the games ensure profits. Talk about something one doesn’t even have to prepare for. And at that, he still screwed it up.

Most of trumps business ventures were failures where trump just threw a bunch of lawyers ar people that tried to gold him accountable…
There is no evidence that trump in any way is preparing for the meeting other than watching fox news…
Thabkfully he has his ignorant worshipers that pretend he is smart and canny and ignore that his failures outweigh his successes…
