Yes it is, but Trump isn’t. Being incompetent or stupid is not mental incapacity. Those are grounds for impeachment, not invoking the 25th, which is a higher bar for removal in any case.
Someone we probably never heard of, keeping in mind there are over 1,000 people in multiple departments who could rightfully claim to be a senior administration official.

I think I agree with this. The author spoke about agreeing with the tax cuts and deregulation, in what appears to be an effort to prevent people from calling him a never trumper. But it has the effect for me of making him sound like a selfish ■■■■■■■■

Ah you were told. No sorry, there are varying opinions on what and who the “deep state” are, and that we now have a confession as to the existence of a republican deep state does not preclude former Obama appointee’s or non-political appointee’s being involved or running a parallel effort.
I just want people to remember, that while you may applaud the “grown-ups” keeping Trump in check, that this precedent, if allowed to go unchecked, may some day be applied to a President who isn’t an incompetent jack ass, but is not approved of by the elected members of his party.
I think the left would feel a but different about it if it was say Sanders who had won and it were elected and appointed democrats attempting to usurp his executive authority to accomplish what they elected him to do. It seems to me, this is coming perilously close to the two parties who hold a virtual monopoly on our elections, placing themselves above the voters. And that should not be allowed to stand.
Trump needs to forget that article was ever written and continue the job…while at the same time having someone carry on an investigation. He himself needs to forget about it. If he gets mired down in Woodward stuff and the letter stuff and whatever the Wahington Post manages to come up with, he is through.

I completely understand your perspective. I don’t even disagree with it either. But these are not normal times, and Trump is not a normal President, let alone human being. I struggle to envision the Democrats ever electing someone so completely unfit and dangerously incurious, petulant, juvenile, and a whole host of other horrendous traits that pose a real and present danger to the nation. I would have said the exact same about the GOP as well, if not for witnessing what they did with Trump. I also would like to believe that the GOP will not repeat this performance, once we exit into a post-Trump world.
Perhaps. However, he is a loon, and he will not change. He will continue to act like exactly what he is. A dangerous and petulant disaster for this nation that needs unprecedented checks on his amoral behavior.
