Indeed, as we all know, as soon as slavery was abolished, black people were smoothly integrated into society, with white people embracing their new freed brothers and sisters with welcoming arms.
It has been beautiful and harmonious ever since then.
Of course there have been a few issues here and there, but for the most part, State, local and federal governments stepped up and ensured black people were treated fairly and with respect.
Sounds like an admission that you do realize it was the democrat party that discriminated against african americans.

There is a segment of today’s left that does want a more socialist society. Also I never said that they should get reparations from the citizens but from Democrat politicians for decades of failed leadership and policies.

Yes, it was the southern Democratic party of the 19th and early 20th century that discriminated against blacks. They were the party of small federal government, conservative, traditional values and states rights. Sounds like the platform of the modern Democratic party, doesn’t it?
You do realize that the overwhelming majority of today’s Americans are NOT descendants of slave owners, right?
It’s also true that the majority of the populace in places that supported systemic racism were also not descendants of slave owners. They still supported a system that disenfranchised blacks of civil rights and multi-generational wealth. It’s a burden we all bear and by not working to implement policy that mitigates that disparity to this day, we’re all worse off due to the ramifications of those disparities.
If you insist on reparations, then they should come from those who desperately tried to oppress blacks through policy, the REPUBLICANS.
All because Dems failed to succeed as much as they had hoped doesn’t mean you punish them for the oppression promoted by the right.

The reparations are not just for slavery…it also includes the next 100+ years of being treated as 2nd class citizens. Much of it, being done by state local and federal governments.

Those people who get medicare and social security love it.
They want to “encourage economic development in the area”.
They should ■■■■■■■ rebuild it, in toto.
