How stupid is 60 Minutes? Mexican gun control works?

Federal Law, the Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), gives gun manufacturers and sellers immunity from lawsuits that are based on gun owners committing crimes with a gun that they legally produced and/or sold.

But there are ways to litigate that don’t challenge the law directly like state commerce laws. Sandy Hook vs Remington for example where they settled for 73M. Like I said I haven’t read the court documents on the Mexican gun cases to see what angle they are using.

Why did Remington settle?

They were already kind of broke and in the middle of a bankruptcy. Figure the board said “let’s just settle this and they get paid out of bankruptcy.”

I think so too. The suit was “deceptive marketing practices.” Basically that the products WERE NOT as military as claimed.

SCOTUS refused the appeal.

Just another example of the lack of logic in the American Injustice System.

I paid a speeding ticket in Mexico with a six pack of beer and a pizza. Just happened to have it in the car and he said that’ll do.

Because they were already facing bankruptcy so there was no point in fighting a financial award that they weren’t going to be able to pay anyway.
