How soon will our good buddies the Brits

Will be demanding American intervention in the gulf? You know the good buddies that spied on Trump for Obama and Hillary 2016 presidential campaign…same buddies that ridiculed and mocked Trump.

Seems to me Brits just might be in a pickle.

Mod Edit: Iran's Revolutionary Guard seizes one UK-operated tanker in Strait of Hormuz, briefly detains another | Fox News

Trump must be WISHING it was an American ship. He’d like nothing more.

Chances are if it was American flagged vessel Iranian gun boats would have been blown out of the water.

We probably sat back and watched Iran captured that British oil tanker and did nothing.

How do you figure?

Iran mistakenly believes these actions will force the EU to buckle. What they fail to realize is that they just crossed a line that will only ensure sanctions are tightened. I also believe we will begin seeing armed escorts to ensure this doesn’t happen again. IMHO

nonsense.

Now reports are out that a second tanker was hijacked.

What will the Brits do now? What will mighty EU do? Send their powerful navies to the gulf and kick some ass. Or will they rely on ugly Americans and racist president?

Stay tune as the world turn.

I believe sanctions will be tightened and that EU will be on board. I also believe we will begin seeing armed escorts very quickly.

Brings back memories of the British depended on America to retake the Falklands. NOT!

Margaret Thatcher was brilliant. We have subs operating in waters near Falklands Islands.

Does anyone else around here recall the strength of the British naval tradition ?

Britain (i.e., the British government spied on Trump? Really? Got any evidence for that. But if you don’t you might want to look up the American Revolution. It turns out Britain opposed American independent, so you’ve definitely got 'em there. The history books will back up.

Perhaps, but foreign entities seizing flagged commercial vessels in international waters is about as close to piracy as it gets. I’m curious why the Royal Navy isn’t escorting their own?

This is just Iran trying to test the new Prime Minister who will be in position next week. Everyone is predicting this will be Boris Johnson.

EU is far more dependent on the Gulf then United States…so I’m really surprised that they don’t have more assets in that area.

Interesting. I had forgotten that for the moment, but I doubt Iran did. I wonder if they are trying to influence it. It could of course just be that they wanted some oil.

Their tradition is strong; their Navy is not.

Regardless of who the new PM is in Great Britain, seizing flagged commercial vessels on the high seas is piracy.
The international community should be freaking out doncha think?

The Brits are fully capable of handling Iran on their own.
