Just wondering, is freedom of the press, freedom of speech?

What freedoms are the authorities allowed to by “Executive Order” do away with indefinitely?

How about freedom of assembly?

Freedom of Religion?

How about forcibly closing millions of businesses indefinitely?

I just don’t see how any crisis can justify all this. I disagree with republicans & democrats on this.

I don’t see it as a partisan issue as both sides are removing freedoms using coronavirus as an excuse. Are we going to do this for 6 months? How about 6 months every winter when the coronavirus returns? It WILL return every year for some time. Swine flu has come around many times since it got started many decades ago.

Are we going to suspend civil liberties every year? Are we going to create a great depression doing so?

This has got to stop!

Congress need to pass a motion to directly limit something within the bill of right during a emergency.

example Trump admin wanted to remove due process, they couldn’t without Congressional approval.

Yeah, then the left will come up with an “emergency” every week.

Why should I hope I don’t get it in a blue state? I’m not living in red states like Louisiana or Florida where cases and deaths are skyrocketing right now. States like Washington, Oregon, and California are showing improvements. May be getting closer to opening up some places.

The whole state’s not red in New Orleans it’s deep blue. Half of Florida is blue. Dade county/Ft. Lauderdale in particular.

Not a cop out. We aren’t talking about disagreeing over ancillary issues. We are talking about those governing from the right ignoring the BoR in their governance re: Patriot Act and others. That’s not a little thing. Some of us don’t see the difference between those who want to drive us over the authoritarian cliff at 100 mph and those who want to do it at 45 MPH. They both want to drive us over the cliff. Why would I support that? The only difference is which “crisis” or item of “welfare” the sides use to justify going over it.
