How many states could possibly re-open Monday, May 4th?

I am losing trust in the surgeon general.

He is stating it is impossible to social distance at work.

Sends a horrible message to those that are working.

He is wrong.

Seems like the POTUS and Task Force members are in the midst of a very difficult juggling act. Adhering to social distancing measures is three fold: current crisis management, then staging a get back to work initiative, and finally what sticks in perpetuity. Safe to assume the cleaning our hands signs before returning to work details posted in hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants, etc. will take on added meaning.

That being said, going forward it is not practical to expect people to be limited to move freely throughout society. Much like in the aftermath of 9-11, where the landscape of entering airports, stadiums and buildings was forever changed, it is safe to assume that more precautions will be added (taking everyone temperatures).

Unless there are severe sanctions imposed on people who knowingly incubate epidemics and/or deliberately suppress information that would enable others to limit their spread, these kinds of crises will become routine.

only the ones that begin with a capital letterā€¦

I originally said June 1st. Here in Utah it might be sooner. Week ago we were getting 200 new cases a day. Last three days were 107 Saturday, 97 (sunday), and 60 today.

That is a good drop.

Down to 19 in Allegheny county after peaking at 89 two weeks ago.

The first modelthat claimed 2 mil deaths were based on zero mitigation like social distancing. At 50% participation in social distancing models estimated 240K deaths. 90% participation = 60K deaths. Thatā€™s all thatā€™s going on with the different numbers .
