The man is for real a genius… he did “Delicatessen” and “City of Lost Children” so I have great respect. He is insane and a pain in the ass.
I wish that “Uncut Gems” was a better movie… it looks good and is shot well but it is nothing but a lot of angry acting.
Well, I won’t be watching any of those. To be fair, I don’t watch a hell of a lot of TV to begin with. My wife tried Game of Thrones with a friend and her assessment was it was just soft porn filth. I trust her judgement and I’ll pass on it as well. I’m not their target though, I’d bet I watch maybe 2 hours of TV a week.
I have been laid off since March. I will be lucky to go back to work in September if everything holds.
We are talking about hundreds of thousands of jobs and Billions in economic activity… but they are liberal so boohoo.
Nope, I don’t get on board with the latest craze.

Some of the best television being made is on HBO right now.

I didn’t bother until I gave it a shot. The political intrigue was great. A nice break from the usual cliche story telling devices.

check out 1917 its a period piece about WW1, very well shot.
I agree with you on the soft porn thing.
There is a lot of unnecessary nudity in the first few season.

I sincerely hope you get back to work soon. I’ve had a few good friends dealing with job losses as well. It sucks.
The plot is paper thin… but man is it a beautiful movie.
When the credits rolled, I turned to my friends who also work in the industry and said “How hard was that movie to shoot?”

It’s been okay for me. My wife and I are fortunate enough to have the resources to weather through this with not too much pain.
Have to dip into retirement savings but not too much.
