349,999,970 are smart enough not to expose themselves to the meat grinder that any candidate has to endure to run for Pres. It takes a certain lack of self-respect to expose oneself to that.
And the 30 that actually did run were all unacceptable each in his/her own way.

The guy who can stand up to the withering media onslaught isn’t going to be a Mr. Rogers-type. Pence would get eaten alive if he didn’t have Trump as a shield. Trump is to Pence what Jupiter is to earth in the way Jupiter absorbs so many asteroids and other space travelers that would otherwise hit earth. Pence, Cruz, Lee, Paul … none of them could withstand what Trump has (and will continue to absorb.)
What Trump does – including things that this nation needs in terms of standing up to the media – comes as part of a package. That package itself generates additional asteroids that shouldn’t even exist, but I just don’t see anyone else who could do what he has done, what he is doing, and what he will do in the future.
