I really don’t have a good alternative, but you can’t set a precedent that if someone doesn’t want to be arrested, you just let him go until later. That’s ridiculous. They probably should have called for more backup. But regardless of our opinions on the police response to this, this guy should get dumbass of the month award. He basically got himself killed and for nothing. It’s not like he was going to get away with it by running.

They let him go, he runs around the corner and carjacks and kidnaps someone, both die in a crash a few moments later.
Cops will be found both civilly and criminally liable, fired, bankrupted, likely off to jail and the city is out eight or nine figures in the settlement.
It seems we’ve lost our collective minds as a nation.
He takes out his hidden set of keys, drives off and kills someone in a wreck, police are then liable and the city is out millions, not to mention the grieving family and those others who may have been injured due to their negligence.
Blacks generally get killed by police because they do something that warrants the use of deadly force on the part of the police.
That’s already been explained numerous times at a painfully elementary level.

No like with all of these discussions he and many others purely view it through the prism of race always demonizing the cops and making excuses for the dead felon.
He fired the taser at the closest officer, you can see the flash on the video making the shooting absolutely justifiable.
Tasers are not “non lethal” so let’s quit pretending they are.
They are less lethal than bullets but still very lethal, I’ve already provided quite a few citations of people dying after being tasered.
Unlawfully threatening someone with, or firing a taser is an aggravated felony.

Most LE Tasers today are not single shot weapons as has already been explained.
He committed multiple aggravated felonies making the use of deadly force to stop him completely appropriate and lawful.
We have actual cases of cops abusing their positions and acting unlawfully, this isn’t one of them.
…and more often than not, they are being shot at by an officer of color than a white officer.
