Here is why the dems hold the edge in the house midterms

Absolutely not. Gotta keep the foot on the gas. Barring any major twists though they have a better chance at taking the House and maybe the Senate than polls suggest.

What do you consider too far to the left?

( I agree with you regarding ICE, Dems need to message that better…)

No he didn’t.

It is looking good for the Dems. But they have to be careful, and not assume anything. (As JayJay is asserting)

I do think they learned a lesson form 2016.

Really?
No rich people in high state tax states are going to pay higher income taxes? You need to rethink that.

Abolishing ICE is a moral position. People don’t support it because they think it will help Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer in the future. ■■■■ them and ■■■■ ICE.

In North Jersey $80,000 is not a lot of money. Also you failed to mention towns like Hopatcong, Netcong, Andover, Byram, Stanhope, Rockaway, Hackettstown, etc. Not all the towns as wealthy as Chatham.

Abolishing it is not the answer? You didn’t even give a reason why it’s not.

Play the right’s narrative or lose folks.

I would say that Democrats have about a 60% chance of taking back the House this coming November. The Democrats will need to win the nationwide popular vote by at least two million in order to take back the House. Gerrymandering is part of the reason why that is, but the biggest reason why that is that rural areas have become more Republican while urban areas have become much more Democratic.

Congressional Republicans want to cut Medicaid more than they do Medicare and Social Security. And if the Republicans retain the House while gaining a couple of Senate seats, they will be back trying to make deep cuts in Medicaid.

When you are confident your country’s actions aren’t monstrous^^^.

Sure, but they want to cut all of it if they can and they’re using the deficit they blew up as an excuse: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/business/wp/2018/06/19/house-gop-plan-would-cut-medicare-social-security-to-balance-budget/?utm_term=.a40009bf4d40

If it was completely reformed, would that not satisfy most concerns?

The optics of “abolishing” it, is not favorable…and you know the R’s will frame it in a way that many voters could be swayed to not vote Dem. They probably simply would not vote…which is almost as bad as voting for a Pub. (if one wants the Dems to take the house)

No, they’re going to pay what they should have been paying all along. Trump didn’t raise anything.

Freeloaders. It’s not their money, remember.

Lol. You are wrong.

Federal taxes will go up on the rich in jersey.

Did you notice what the Webber the r is running on (tax reform),

Why do you think that is?

Allan

No, because reform doesn’t mean anything. Keeping the cruelty out of sight and out of mind is not fine.

Why are you worried about optics? Trump is President. He has the worst optics imaginable and he’s the most powerful person in the world.

No they won’t. The rate is staying the same. Now you don’t get to deduct your outrageous state taxes from your obligations to Centgov who you love so much.

You love the beast so much, feed it lib.

This was the plan all along.

Exposing ICE for the horrendous acts, is the reason for reform.
Optics matter. It may not be the correct thing to do all the time, but it must be considered.

I want to win the House and Senate back. And I advocate running a progressive agenda, along the lines of Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez.

Trump does have the worse optics, as he is a horrible POTUS/person. But he has a big enough following, he can get the vote out. We can address the ICE issues, with abolishing it on the table, but not the only option.
