Pretty much? Yes.
I suggest you tell that to the 30 million who have had their livelihood taken from them.
JWK
As early as March, 6th, 2020, we were told,
(CNN) "Amid a coronavirus outbreak in the United States, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is encouraging older people and people with severe chronic medical conditions to âstay at home as much as possible.â
âThis advice is on a CDC website that was posted Thursday, according to a CDC spokeswomanâ.
"Early data suggests older people are twice as likely to have serious illness from the novel coronavirus, according to the CDC. LINK
And by March 18th, we find:
â⌠new data show that up to one-fifth of infected people ages 20-44 have been hospitalized, including 2%-4% who required treatment in an intensive care unit.
Still, the most severe cases, and the highest rates of death, are among the elderly. Although 17% of the U.S. population is 65 or older, 31% of cases were in that age group, CDC experts concluded in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report." LNK
From these statistics, sound reasoning indicates that focusing on and protecting the elderly would be a logical course of action, since the remaining portion of the population would not suffer significant casualties if it practiced common sense hygiene practices.
Indeed, this was the common sense approach used in Sweden. See: Has Sweden Found the Right Solution to the Coronavirus?

âIf the COVID-19 pandemic tails off in a few weeks, months before the alarmists claim it will, they will probably pivot immediately and pat themselves on the back for the brilliant social-distancing controls that they imposed on the world. They will claim that their heroic recommendations averted total calamity. Unfortunately, they will be wrong; and Sweden, which has done almost no mandated social distancing, will probably prove them wrong.â
So, what was the scientific explanation for shutting down the worldâs most thriving economy and forcing 30 million Americans into losing their jobs, not to mention the crushing blow dealt to millions of small business owners having their lives destroyed by government mandates to close their businesses? The following video is very telling:

The bottom line is, there appears to have been an intentional media created hysteria generated by so-called âexpertsâ i.e., Fauci &Co., dwelling on rising death rates and âcurvesâ, as opposed to focusing on protecting the elderly and those with existing medical conditions which is the battle that ought to have been fought, and not a self-inflicted economic suicide to âflatten a curveâ.

So you think all those deaths are a hoax.
Nobody knows what the actual death rate is.
The deaths in the US include presumptive and probable cases.
The comorbidity factor also complicates the actual death rate.
There are few fatalities attributable solely and absolutely to just the virus.

So you think all those deaths are a hoax.
The predictable deaths caused by government calling for suspension of elective procedures is certainly not a âhoaxâ. Our government lied and people died.

Our country is infested with a Fifth Column movement at MSNBC, NEW YORK TIMES, CNN, WASHINGTON POST, ATLANTIC MAGAZINE, New York Daily News, Time, ETC., and their countless Yellow Journalists, who work hand in hand with the Democrat Party socialist/communist leadership to undermine and destroy our free market, free enterprise system.

When has that happened?
Weâre literally on life support.
Energy has collapsed as an industry and we have the highest UE numbers right now seen since the Great Depression.
If the fedâs stop CPR the patient is definitely going to die.
Economic suicide? Is that why companies that were reporting record profits over several quarters were suddenly on the brink of declaring bankruptcy after a couple of weeks?
What are their profit margins? Name the industry we can pull it up in seconds.
Buy a dictionary and then open it. Maybe you can divine it then on your own.
As a businessman that is in the process of enduring through the economic effects of this pandemic, the financial assistance from the government appearsâŚat this timeâŚto be too rich. I donât know what lies ahead though? If our economy goes to crap, maybe not but we just completed the month in which the virus theoretically peaked and if this is it, the money paid by our government is too much IMO.
It would be except for all the scared little children afraid to come out in the light.
The PPA only lasts for 10 weeks and that ought to be about right. By then anyone who still wants to hide in the dark can starve or all I care.
We know who needs to be protected, the rest of us want to go back to work and dragging this out much longer makes no sense and will do far more harm than good.
One thing I will point out - is this consistent idea that âSwedenâ did the opposite of us if just false and obviously comes from people that donât have friend there.
Sweden did not order stay at home, that is true. HOWEVER -
They did mandate non essential business to close (They gave a few more exemptions).
All Bars were closed
All non essential employees were told to stay at home
Unemployment is projected to be 13.5% and would prob be higher but government is paying 80% of wages if companies keep them on payroll.
Cafes are open but enforcing social distancing.
Sports were canceled.
Gathering more then 50 people were banned. They did keep schools open and some types of gyms were allowed.
Now -I think the US should move to the same model. But that model is NOT âEvery thing is open and everyone go back to workâ
The admiration of what Sweden did needs to be tempered by the fact that it has seen a higher death rate than any o the countries around it that did not adopt the Swedish model.
Well that was easy.

Adding 3T in debt is killing this economy.
Tea Party rallies?

I sent my employees home on April the 1st. The loan didnât get deposited until the 15th. Thatâs when the 8 forgivable weeks begins. This means that 2 weeks of the 8 will come into this months statement. That leaves 75% of the loan still being available going forward and hopefully, come into play during easier times and thatâs my point. If this month is indicative of what we can expect going forward, itâs too rich. If nothing changes and I know thatâs a big IF but if nothing changes, the next few months will theoretically be my most profitable in this companyâs 23 year history.
And many of the largest countries in Europe have near or over twice our mortality rate.
Iâll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I still think weâd have been better of just sending every head of household up to a max of 787bn 30k starting from the bottom up.
That would have taken care of all but probably the top 10-20% of âEarnersâ and would have been spent as they see fit as though they all got an extra year or moreâs pay, or slightly less for those in the middle.
I prefer to handle complex problems in the simplest, most effective and efficient way possible.
We could have done something like a collection freeze to protect businesses where all bills are frozen till it was over and when it was we just act like the 2-4 months never happened. Restart basically from March First if that makes sense.
And many of the largest countries in Europe have near or over twice our mortality rate.
But we were talking about Sweden.
