Has “Cultural appropriation” gone too far?

All them wild boys I worked with in Texas weren’t cowboys either, (well, some were) but they wore the boots. Florida too. It pays tribute to a long and storied history.

What culture is that?

I wish we had more examples like this one. Mutual respect between both parties for decades - everybody won.

This seems like a concept from the past.
I don’t even see American kids dressing up as cowboys any more.
In Texas.
As to adults…not so much any more, at least not where I live.

Yeah they do, was just reading about a cowboy bar I think in the UK. They even had mock gun fights. They have even built an old west town.

Outrageous!

Bad case of knee-jerk?

The other poster that is.

Yeah there are.

Good call.

No, there aren’t.

Yes there are.

Not a one. Cowboy is a state of mind. Having a milk cow in the backyard won’t do it.

Is a “state of mind” confined to geography?

It only grows in certain places.

Bunny appropriates the culture of cartoon rabbits…

LOL. You don’t know ■■■■ about New England.

I disagree

A little bit. I know a lot about cowboys.

I am all for “culture appropriation” and people being whoever the hell they wish to be, but it is kind of funny going to a country concert in the Northeast.

Especially if they are waving confederate flags! :joy:
