Has anyone here had a vasectomy? Or know someone who has? Lovely question I know :)

Finally hit the big 40 last week been dreading this number and the wife tells me literally on my birthday that she’s two months pregnant, which is kind of suspicious since she was supposedly on birth control, but you know things are what they are I guess.

This will be the first and last, but curious if anyone has ever had a vasectomy since birth control doesn’t seem to effective

I have been reading about the effects but it’s like what to expect the first couple of weeks, etc. I’m more interesting are they things you noticed that changed years later like mood, depression, fatigue, sex mood etc…

I’m literally happy and ■■■■■■■ scared at the same time about this, never wanted to be the old father at the games etc… I’ve managed to make it 40 years thinking this is how my life would be then boom happy birthday. I should have saw it coming she’s 34 and was talking about her clock :mantelpiece_clock: ticking etc for the past two years, was holding out it would stay talks

Sorry about the uncomfortable title. I don’t even know if I should’ve posted this or not. This is what you do when you freak out you post a vasectomy post on a political forum.

I’ve seen those left and right in the Army. They loved neutering people.

They all dragged their asses across the carpet like a crying cat for a few days, but were all fine within a week or three.

Fun story:

My brother had a vasectomy done in Campeche when he lived there. His balls swelled up like baseballs from the surgery, so they gave him codeine for the pain.

Turns out, he’s allergic to codeine and it made the swelling worse!

A year down the road, he and his family were back home in Missouri when she ended up with another bun in the oven. Lots of silent oofs in the background there!

Undeterred, he saw an American doctor about it, and upon further inspection, it was learned that my brother had a rare third tube in his testicles, and the Mexican doctors had only clipped the standard 2.

He had to get neutered a second time.

I had one about 46 years ago, after the birth of our son. The doctor said my wife couldn’t have any more children without risking her life. We decided the best contraceptive to avoid any possibility of a mistake was for me to get a vasectomy. It sure made our sex life a lot simpler.

Yes.

And had it reversed. Successfully.

I suspect you wouldn’t have the same regrets that I did, or at least not for the reasons I did.

I got one right after divorcing my ex and never looked back.

I got one. After two kids I had enough. Best financial decision I’ve made so far

Get yourself a bag of frozen peas and with some Vicodin you will be ok after two days.

Yep, five kids here. I was in pain a few days longer than they said was normal but not crazy. Look forward to the anesthesia nap :+1:

Yep had one in my early 40s and so glad I did. Done my part for the human race. Last thing I wanted was more kids.

Highly recommend it.

Great combo.

One of my best friends is a urologist.

He’s done most of my group of friends at this point, all without any issues. It’s a pretty routine procedure these days. Just make sure you get the minimally invasive technique.

My time hasn’t come yet, trying to round out a trio.

On a sidenote, if you ever wanna see all your friends’ balls, become a urologist I guess.

Lucky. I didn’t get anesthesia. I got sleepy pills and numbing shots to the nuts.

I could feel the tugs and see the smoke . But I was in lala land.

:scream:

Yikes

About 19 years ago, after my youngest was born. Out patient surgery, local anesthesia, minimal discomfort for a couple of days. Out of the game for a short number of days, but remember you are still potentially packing live ammo for the first couple of engagements. The doctor should tell you all this.

No anesthesia for me. They just shot up my nuts and chatted with me through the whole thing.

My brother’s nuts swelled to the size of grapefruits when he had is.

It’s a great move. The pill isn’t great long term for women.

46 years ago, I simply got local anesthesia.

Never never. Especially after a former co-worker had one and said they lied about it not hurting.

There are better options.

Damn, not a one of you are in tact, eh? Now it all makes sense!
