I didn’t say that, I said that the president only cares about Savannah Guthrie’s mom because she’s Savannah Guthrie’s mom. A lot of other moms went missing this week and you and Trump don’t know anything about any of them. They’re getting special treatment because they’re famous.
What?
Sure. That’s why I said exactly the same thing when JFK Jr. went missing and the federal government mobilized to find him. Because Bill Clinton is " bad " and I hate him.
If this story was a fictional movie script, it would be an inside job and Nancy, (Meryl Streep) (not getting any money from Savannah) and her sympathetic friend, Bob, (Liam Neeson) are now waiting for their money. so they can go live itheir remaining years in Spain.
Nancy had heard them talking about putting her in a nursing home and renting out her house.
While writing this abive comment on my phone, I accidentally hit the AI button:
The user’s pitch reimagines the real-life disappearance of Nancy Guthrie (mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie) as a dark, twisty fictional movie script in the vein of a psychological thriller or crime drama—think Arsenic and Old Lace meets Knives Out or The Gift, but with elder exploitation and betrayal at its core.In this alternate Hollywood version:Nancy (played by Meryl Streep) is the sharp, independent 84-year-old widow living alone in her large Tucson home. She’s overheard family members (perhaps including Savannah or other relatives) discussing plans to move her into a nursing home against her wishes so they can rent out or sell her valuable property for profit. Feeling betrayed and fearing loss of autonomy, Nancy decides she’s not going quietly.
She orchestrates an elaborate “inside job” fake kidnapping with the help of her loyal, sympathetic old friend Bob (Liam Neeson in full gruff-protector mode—maybe a retired handyman, ex-cop, or longtime neighbor who’s seen the family’s cold calculations). Bob has no stake in any inheritance or money from Savannah; he’s purely motivated by friendship and outrage at how Nancy is being treated.
The “abduction” is staged: forced entry signs, a bit of her own blood (from a minor cut or staged scene), removed security cameras (they know exactly where they are because they’re insiders), phone left behind, etc. Ransom notes are sent (carefully crafted with just enough private details to seem legit), demanding money—but not from Savannah directly. Instead, the notes target other family members or perhaps a trust/estate setup, framing it as if opportunistic criminals are exploiting the situation.
The twist: Nancy and Bob aren’t after a massive payday from the family. They’re waiting for a modest sum—enough to fund a quiet, comfortable exile in Spain, where Nancy can live out her remaining years on her own terms, sipping wine in the sun, far from meddling relatives and “for-your-own-good” nursing home threats. No greed, just reclaiming control and dignity.
The film builds tension through the investigation: FBI involvement, public pleas from Savannah (cast someone like a younger Reese Witherspoon type for the daughter role), media frenzy, false leads (like that one guy who faked being the kidnapper), and growing suspicion that it might be an inside job because the abductors knew too much about the house layout and routines.
Climax: A confrontation where the “ransom” handoff goes sideways, or Nancy/Bob nearly get caught, forcing a moral reckoning. Does the family realize their role in pushing her to this extreme? Does Nancy reveal herself, or does she vanish for good, leaving a letter explaining everything?
Tone: Darkly comedic in spots (Streep delivering biting one-liners about “being warehoused”), but ultimately poignant about aging, family greed, independence, and the fear of losing one’s home/life to institutionalization.
It’d be marketed as “based on a true story… but what if the victim fought back?”—a crowd-pleaser with awards buzz for Streep and N eeson, exploring elder rights and family dynamics in a thriller wrapper. If you’re fleshing this out further (logline, key scenes, ending variations), or want to cast more roles / tweak the plot, let me know!

This newest video the family posted.
It is different this time.
No details about the third message they just ‘received’.
Only they, the family, ‘respond’ with a very cryptic message that can be read many different ways.
Maybe this is just a ruse to draw the kidnapers out.
Maybe FBI is advising the family to ‘respond’ to a ‘message’ that they didn’t actualy receive.
If the perps see that they can say ‘Hey…we didn’t send anything new’.
Maybe FBI is trying to bring them out to corespond more.
I mean…the final deadline is aproaching…what do they have to lose?
Maybe FBI wants to draw the bad guys out this way.
The more the kidnapers talk the better and faster is to catch them.
IF kidnapers think that someone else stepped in and will get paid maybe they will be more eager to call directly or something.
Whatever…I hope and pray they get their mom back well and soon.
I can’t imagine the agony they live with.
I was glad to see that because I was worried that it was in poor taste for me to speculate that way at this time.
I don’t want to say anything that would add to their pain.
This last video is different from others because this was very carefuly word by word put together.
Probably by LE.
The message, It implyes a lot but cites nothing specific.
Leaves a lot to interpretation.
I hope it helps somehow.
I myself am counting hours till the last Monday 5 PM dead line.
I don’t know how the family lives through this.
People who can aford it…please have an inplant into your loved ones.
I’d raise the reward to half or even a Million instead of the ransom.
If the kidnapers are not responding maybe someone close to them would.
This is so devastating.
The family still believes that she is " out there " so they need to raise dramaticaly the reward.
If the kidnapers stopped coresponding SOMEONE out there may talk so this gets finalized soon.
To let it be unsolved is bad for everyone plus it encourages crooks to try it again.
