Mexico has several kidnapping crews also. But if that was the case, they had enough time to get her South of the border before she was discovered missing. Then from the haven of Mexico make arrangements for a ransom over the internet, to be delivered in Mexico. Just use a bunch of one time email addresses, checked from public internet access locations in Mexico, never using the same location to connect twice.

Scary stuff. I’m guessing a lot of famous wealthy people have increased security for their loved ones recently.
Relatives are often easier to target than the famous person, with personal security.

I’m not holding a lot of hope out. It has been a long time, she is in poor health and needs meds. Who ever took her has most likely hid her very well and is lying very low to let it cool off before going back to their regular criminal routine. And they probably won’t go anywhere near that neighborhood for over a year.
Explain that. How does the kidnapping of this woman change that or impact that? It makes zero sense.
