GREEN NEW DEAL(help)

HELLO,

I doubt that Sean will ever see this oat but maybe someone might. I saw some of the estimates that it will cost $7 Trillion to fund the Green New deal, of course that is an estimate, What I would like to know in simple terms what will cost the average person like me. I think we should do something about the environment but be real. I am retired and take home about $55,000 a year of SSA and retirement investment income. The cost would include the cost of an electric car, the cost to heat my home, the cost of travel for vacations and god knows what else. I think this would “bring it home” to the average tax payer… This does not include “Single Payer” (whatever that means) health Care. AOC is wacked,

Mike L

It will cost you nothing, the Green New Deal has not been funded.

To implement the plan they’re talking about would cost far more then 7 trillion dollars…and that’s not counting the healthcare they want.

I’m waiting for “AOC” to show the real value of her Economics degree from Boston University by stating that the Treasury should just print the money we need because that’s how the government really works.

In 1974 before Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a twinkle in her dad’s eye and gas lines were sometimes three blocks long in the Bronx and its price was four times the cost than when the oil shortage began, Cortez’s socialist/communist buddies argued against deregulation and making America oil independent. Now that America is oil independent, fuel efficiency has been achieved and we have clean coal, Cortez and her socialist/communists pals want to close down America’s coal and oil industry because the world will end in 12 years if we don’t.

The unavoidable truth is, the Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist plan for “free” college tuition will be paid for by taxing millions of college graduates who worked for and paid their own way through college and are now trying to finance their own economic needs.

All we need is president of declaring a national emergency by Trump. Then we eco Libs can start the bull rolling on the Green New Deal once we get the presidency. Mwahaa.

It’s a lot easier to find 5.7 billion of unused extra funds laying around than 50 trillion.

So you’re admitting that are libs willing to use emergency powers to impose their will onto We The People…is that what you’re saying?

Any estimate I’ve seen attributes over $3 trillion a year just on single payer/M4A and then asks how will we pay for it? The sheer ignorance or dishonesty is ridiculous. It totally handwaves the fact that we pay more than that on our current healthcare system, just funded in a different manner. If someone can’t even get that straight, I dont care to hear anything else they say on the matter.

ONly if Trump goes first. That was clear in my post.

Where there is will Trump will show us the way!

Except there’s really no such thing as “clean coal”.

In consideration of being green, when I think about the raping and pillaging of the environment that would take place to build your electric car, not to mention…dispose of it, I recommend, you get a used Buick to really be and practice “green”. It’ll last forever, the safety engineering is excellent, insurance is minimal, the fuel mileage will surprise you, the maintenance is low and the acquisition cost is minimal…relatively. I appreciate your sentiment and wanted to offer a reasonable solution. :sunglasses:

Make no mistake. If given the chance, our communist/socialist political leaders would not hesitated to use the iron fist of government to impose their whims and fancies upon the American people as the rule of law and without their consent.

“Green New Deal”… I wish that those elected to Congress and those who elected them, would at least perform some minimal research on their views. Just as one example–the resteiction of “cattle” to lower methane emissions:
Facts–there are approximately 200 existing species of mammals that produce methane gas. These are referred to as “ruminants”, commonly known as “cud-chewing”.
Among these are camels, beef & dairy cattle (aka “cow”) , gazelles, goats, deer, and bison…just to name a few.
FYI…a bison gives off approximately twice as much methane as a cow.
Circa 1700, when settlers began to establish farming in the comtinental USA, there were an estimated 60 MILLION bison. Today, there are an estimated 90 million cows. So…more methane was being produced by animals in the 1700’s in the continental USA! Than is produced today. (Wikipedia).

As someone who is almost finished paying back my $40,000 in student loans, I would gladly chip in to provide college to students.

This student loan scam has to stop.

Irrelevant.

The student loan “scam” began under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s socialist Great Society. Stop the federal government’s involvement and the cost of college will drop dramatically.

Additionally, there is a very big difference between charitable giving as you suggest you are happy to engage in from tax tyranny, and transferring one person’s earned wages to another individual for their personal economic needs.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s socialism will promise food on the table, free public housing, health care for all, free college tuition, and other niceties by taxing the so called rich; and if by chance her leadership gains control because of such promises made, the end result, as John Adams stated, “will be revengeful, bloody, and cruel”

Tax Tyranny…

tyr¡an¡ny

Dictionary result for tyranny

/ˈtirənē/

noun

  1. cruel and oppressive government or rule.

“people who survive war and escape tyranny”

synonyms: despotism, absolutism, absolute power, autocracy, dictatorship, undemocratic rule, reign of terror, totalitarianism, Fascism; More

  • a nation under cruel and oppressive government.

  • cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control.

You have a very liberal view of the word: Tyranny.

Not when one considers the arbitrary use of government power or control.

Under what wording beneath Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1, which gives a list of particulars for which Congress may tax and spend, is a power authorized to Congress to allow Congress to tax one individual to finance the costs of another individual’s college?

You seem to not agree with our constitution, nor the thinking of founders, and a primary function of government.

Under a just and equal Government, every individual is entitled to protection in the enjoyment of the whole product of his labor, except such portion of it as is necessary to enable Government to protect the rest; this is given only in consideration of the protection offered. In every bounty, exclusive right, or monopoly, Government violates the stipulation on her part; for, by such a regulation, the product of one man’s labor is transferred to the use and enjoyment of another. The exercise of such a right on the part of Government can be justified on no other principle, than that the whole product of the labor or every individual is the real property of Government, and may be distributed among the several parts of the community by government discretion; such a supposition would directly involve the idea, that every individual in the community is merely a slave and bondsman to Government, who, although he may labor, is not to expect protection in the product of his labor. An authority given to any Government to exercise such a principle, would lead to a complete system of tyranny."

See Representative Giles, speaking before Congress February 3rd, 1792
