I can’t understand that Trump doesn’t understand what socialism is, but the Republican politicians that loudly support this statement by Trump know better. The people around here and elsewhere that repeat this statement are proof that far too many seemingly educated and otherwise bright people have dispelled their cognitive functions and are simple following the emotional messaging they receive.
If you want to oppose Medicare for all, you are entitled to your opinions and positions, but if you want to rid America of socialist programs, you are gonna have to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, Disability and a whole slew of socialist programs. I don’t think Trump or any other politician want to take the position of eliminating those programs.
Why are people repeating this? It’s just an ignorant statement.

Yeah…the President should have done NOTHING…the same as the Presidents before him that have allowed these unfair trade practices that have created the situation the farmers are in. There will be some additional pain to get them back out of it. Under the circumstances, I’m fine with what Trump is doing.
I’d take it back without interest.
There would be millions of elderly living on the streets within a few years…

Looking ahead at our government’s promise to pay me back what I paid them, I didn’t believe them and have thankfully made other arrangements.
It wouldn’t take years. It would be immediate.
Many people view their social security payments as an investment in their retirement. It doesn’t work that way. Your social security payments go to pay those collecting social security today. The money that you have paid into the system isn’t sitting there waiting to be disbursed. It is already spent.
Any estimates on what you think a health insurance policy for a 70 year old will be?
The best this 70 year old can afford…when and if…that time comes…
And when that coverage hits it’s lifetime max?
It seems that the 65 or older crowd is supporting this “America will never be socialist” rhetoric. At least they fall into the demographic of Trump’s base. I’m always amazed at the people that vote against their best interest.
You’re thinking that I’m going to be dependent on the system you’re referring to and I hope I’m not. I have another plan and another plan and one more plan after that…all in case one or another fails. I’ve been very blessed.
