Agreed. Especially considering they testified under oath the border was secure, all while millions and millions of illegal aliens were crossing. Oh…sorry…that was Biden’s DHS.
Some things states want the right to do are wrong.
The Confederacy was fighting for states rights too. I would presume that even you are not so libbishly agendized as to make the same stupid point about them for that.
OK, then do you honestly believe that those who argue for states rights would say it’s a blanket argument and should apply to what the Confederacy too? Of course you don’t. I truly believe you don’t.
And I truly believe you know why your argument about states rights here was nothing but trollishness.
And guess what dude…When the state of Texas was trying to defend it’s Southern Border during the Biden Border invasion you and the rest of your lib buddies were emphatic we had no right to do so because immigration is only a federal issue. So please just stop with the hypocrisy lectures.
First, I want to point out, I didn’t bring up the Confederacy, you did. But I have heard over and over again here about the valid states rights argument of the civil war and about how that is what the ware was really about, and how the war of northern aggression steam rolled over the very important question of states rights. I can’t tell you for sure any of our current crew of board members holds those views, but there were some long lasting and high spirited threads on the subject in the past. So yes, I do think some states rights advocates apply it to slavery. I’ve heard them do it.
I was thinking of more recent positions, abortion in particular, where conservatives celebrated the ability of states to govern themselves.
I actually didn’t care if Texas wanted to use their resources on border security.
But the arguments of who should control an international border is not the same as how does a state administer justice re: state crimes and punishment.
