LOL.
So you passively accept misleading information; I pointed it out; you’ve now got some questions for . . . ME? That sounds about right.

Care to quote that in the bill?
Such language! Tsk, tsk.
To the fainting couch with you! I forgot your delicate sensibility.
WuWei:Reimbursed by whom?
LOL.

If you don’t know, it’s ok.
You didn’t mention it nor did your summary article.
margaretms2: RTchoke:You should read it.
Higher gas prices AND a per mile fee.
That’s the way to keep America running.
Well that’s not good.
It’s also misleading. There’s no blanket “per mile fee” in the bill, as that poster suggests. There’s a pilot program that would study the effect and viability of a per-mile driving fee among a group of volunteers. Participants would be fully reimbursed for any charges they pay. Death Panels II: Electric Boogaloo.
Care to quote that in the bill?
Whoa. YOU made the original false claim we’re talking about. Why don’t you support your original claim?

I didn’t faint. If that’s the way you feel, why are you here?

Your info itself is a little misleading.
While yes, there will be volunteers for this program it will eventually be a requirement. Govt never gives up a steady income stream.

You made a counter claim. Can you not back up your claim?
My reasons for being here (or not) are largely independent of your personal cranks. There are other people here, you know.
2023 will be a new year with just a bit of luck. What has been done by man can be undone by man.

Yet you don’t use that foul mouthed language at them, just the site.
2023 will be a new year with just a bit of luck. What has been done by man can be undone by man.
Not if it brings in a nice steady stream of guaranteed revenue for those men to spend on their little projects.

There was nothing misleading about it. It’s a pilot program with volunteers. You suggested there’s a per-mile fee for everyone.
BTW: Lots of pilot programs that bring revenue streams do not get implemented.
Also: Can you see at all that your resistance to—and hostility toward—accurate information is problematic?
Since some just want the shiny objects that are listed in the media to be seen, here is the bill.

You still have not proven your claim that the all fees the volunteers pay get reimbursed.
Because that is not what the bill says. They will get an estimated payment back for their participation. They will not receive all their fees paid back and I hazard a guess their payment will be in no way equal to or more than the fees they paid.
How is the gov assessing the fee?
What’s the purpose of this?
Can’t move to EV without losing a mint in gas taxes.

There are many different ways they are collecting the data and independent and 3rd party entities will collect the revenue and forward to the Treasury.
The purpose? Revenue generation from a guaranteed source. Their objectives are many and too long to list/copy and paste.
Payment.–Not more than 60 days after the end of each calendar
quarter in which a volunteer participant has participated in the pilot
program, the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the
Secretary of Transportation, shall estimate an amount of payment for
each volunteer based on the vehicle miles submitted by the volunteer
for the calendar quarter and issue such payment to such volunteer
participant.
It’s a pilot program. They are volunteers. They are reimbursed based on their mileage. You original claim was wrong. Dig all the rabbit holes around that you want.

Your claim was not that they would receive a payment in return for their participation. I already stated that.
Your claim was that they will be reimbursed all their fees. That is a lie.
