FBI: Iranian hackers gave Trump data to Harris campaign

The allegation of Iranian hacking comes after US intel said that they had uncovered an Iranian assassination plot against Trump.

It comes only days after a second assassination attempt. The alleged assassin told Iran “You are free to assassinate Trump" in his self-published book and was involved with efforts to recruit foreign fighters from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan to aid the Ukrainian war effort.

My observation is that the interactions between intel agencies are a lot like alley cats–they sometimes make a lot of noise, but it is difficult to say whether they are fighting or screwing. I suspect that there are plenty of people at high levels of the intel agencies who be happy to see someone kill Trump and then have a foreign entity to blame for it.

Are the intel agencies diligently working to protect President Trump?

Are they in “let it happen mode”?

Or are elements within the US government really leading the efforts and blaming foreign governments as a cover?

  1. Iranians attempted to phish both campaigns, but the Biden/Harris folks didn’t fall for it and the Trump campaign did.
  2. The hackers sent a packet to the Biden campaign but since it was in the phishing email it was never opened, according to the FBI.
  3. They also sent the Trump packet to media organizations but no one has published what they hacked, which is a good thing and unlike Trump, in 2020, who just loved Wikileaks publishing stolen data from the DNC.
  4. There is no evidence this is a US based enterprise, and Trump is being more protected than HRC ever was.

Sitting by and letting an enemy state or terrorist group take out Trump would be a win-win for Democrats and their allies.

When it comes actual threats from foreign entities, I suspect that Trump has more to fear from James-Bond-wannabes than the ayatollahs.

Richard Dearlove: He served as chief of MI6 from 1999 to 2004, had contact during the 2016 campaign with dossier author Christopher Steele. He is also a close colleague of Stefan Halper, the alleged FBI and CIA informant who established contact with several Trump campaign advisers. Dearlove and Halper attended a Cambridge political event in July 2016 where Halper had his first contact with Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

It took an independent counsel and three years of investigations by the fbi to have the Mueller report admit there was no evidence of cooperation between anyone in the Trump campaign and Russia re the election. I assume the FBI is currently investigating the Harris campaign in a similar manner. Right
