Not looking at deaths…I’m looking at new cases.
Fact remain…at this moment despite Cal strict lockdown they still have 50 percent more new cases then Fla…and that is a fact unless you think world meter is wrong.

It is, but you didn’t edit. Flag it if you want.
No, you injected the supposition of more hospital beds.
I make sense all the time. I just confirmed your bias before
Lib battle cry for 10 months. You (c).
I run an Assisted Living program for up to 60 people with developmental disabilities. Most of it is congregate living. up to 8 people living in four 2 bedroom apartments under one roof so to speak. I direct up to 110 staff most of who work in the second most populace county in Indiana/ adjacent to Cook and Will County in Illinois. We have almost 500,000 people.
I also have to make decisions on when to isolate/keep people at home and when to loosen the reigns a little bit. I took a chance at Thanksgiving time and let about half of the 52 people I have currently go with their families if the gathering was going to be small and just immediate 4 or 5 family members…that was based on the Rt having gone from 1.07 to .98 over the last 10 days or so before Thanksgiving.
So far…So good, I have one person waiting test results as of last Friday a full week after thanksgiving…and no new ones as of today. Had that number remained above 1.0 I would not have been as likely to let people go home to be with families.
These measures are simple and easy to project outward…for instance right now Rt in my county has gone from .94 to .97 over the past 5 days…That is pretty easy to trend in one direction or another to make decisions off of.
Ah, OK, I got you now. I use Worldmeters, too. CA just implemented increased restrictions so we will see what happens in the next few weeks.
For the first time?
My studs already know what is what. I have very little issue with them. My also rans, well they need more education, more prodding to get on board with the program. However, in most cases it is worth the time and effort. My expenses are less if I spend more time working with them to get them to understand the importance of all of my guidelines than if I was less tolerant and just fired them all. If I can get them up to a level of acceptable tolerance of risk…where they wear their masks while working with the clients 80% of the time and the other 20% they are socially distancing…I have saved my company about $2500 to $3000 in unemployment, and rehire and new training costs.
I do not like to just fire people for their mistakes…unless it is health or safety or abuse something like that. I can live with mistakes and work to bring someone along with further training. It saves me money in the long run. I think in 8 months I have fired 2 people. The other side of that is that with staff shortages, we can’t afford to terminate people in large numbers.
Not firing for mistakes is how you make studs.
Gavin Newsom is eminently punchable.
No, including the original restrictions at the beginning if the pandemic, this is the 3rd time.
Well what the hell Jimmy? Is he demented?
Are you asking, or agreeing?
If you are agreeing, then yeah…I am with you all the way. One of my managers used to want me to allow him to fire people because he would yell at them over the phone and they would hang up on him/ or curse him out…and I would simply say, John…stop yelling at them and explain to them what they did was wrong and tell them how to improve on it. That is your job. After a year of that, I fired him…after three of his staff filed a grievance. Man I did it all, sent him to outside trainings on how to manage difficult people, hoping he’d get some pointers on himself.
I find that now, in my old more wise age, that if I spend a bit more time with someone teaching them the right way, I get longer lasting staff. If I can get someone to stay on board for a year, the chances of them being here in 5 years increase by about 40% I’ll take that time.
I have some employees who hired in with me who are still here…22 years later.
Agreeing. And I’ll tolerate more risk with studs. My 10 might go to an 11.
He opened up the first time too soon, even before we had met the criteria he laid out. So far CA has done better than 37 other states at keeping its citizens alive.
Done better? I disagree. You are #1 total cases. You even passed us. And for that, I say thanks.
You also have the most active cases, by a lot.
Honestly, I’ve never flagged anything in my life on any board. I
Yes. I used logic. Bigger cites have more living places, more school, more hospitals, and more people. Thought that was understood.
If you say so
I’m not a lib. I do lean left and use facts. So I understand that most people here see that as a lib
…but a higher percentage of non-dead citizens.
Weird statement. You would think I would know if I killed someone due to my sickness. It’s as if I know when I am sick. ![]()
Mine actually does…The only thing I can’t allow is abuse or neglect. Or Financial Exploitation of people with developmental disabilities. Man, stealing from someone who has Autism, or Down Syndrome… I will come after a person with both guns. I have helped Prosecute 3 people in last 5 years.
I had a manager who, by the necessity of their jobs, had set up her car payments to come directly out of a clients checking account. It’s necessary to have access because the State mandates that we have checks and balances and that we review monthly each person’s finances. Well my manager went on Maternity leave two months after buying a new car. And then while she was on Maternity leave, I had access to this clients accounts…and I am thinking to myself, why is Jane making a 450 dollar payment over the past two months to an auto finance company…
Armed with the managers social security number and telephone number and other things…I called and found out that indeed she had an open account and that payments were made from the clients account. I had her dead to rites…and terminated her while on leave…and handed the police all the evidence…and they dropped the case. It was about $2400 in fraud.
But for every one like her…there are 20 great people who just need to be guided.
Good for you. You edit yours, I’ll edit mine
You introduced variables into a hypothetical to confirm your bias. Foul.
You said so.
Ok, prog then. I’ve been thinking about switching anyway. I heard a pretty smart young man talking about it this morning. He’s a real liberal, like me. Married homosexual too.
lagging indicator, but love the way you put that.
