“We are closing our Trinity location only for the time being,” a Whole Foods spokesperson said in a statement. “If we feel we can ensure the safety of our team members in the store, we will evaluate a reopening of our Trinity location.”
A City Hall source told The Standard the company cited deteriorating street conditions around drug use and crime near the grocery store as a reason for its closure.
Whole Foods closing Civic Center store in S.F. over ‘safety’ concerns
“To ensure the safety of our Team Members, we have made the difficult decision to close the Trinity store for the time being,” a Whole Foods Market spokesperson said in a written statement. “All team members will be transferred to one of our nearby locations.” . . .
. . . Staff also reportedly complained about “people acting out” inside the store, he said.
“It’s obvious to me that, as an employer, Whole Foods has a lot of concerns about the safety of their employees, and ultimately that’s why they made the decision to close,” Dorsey said. “I wish they hadn’t, but I’ve also been in there and seen some things that are off putting.”
As a near-daily customer, he said, the store had gotten rid of hand-held shopping baskets, allowing only carts. An employee told Dorsey that all 250 baskets the store had when it first opened were stolen
Exactly what’s happened in my neighborhood CVS. Addicts come in, fill up baskets with whatever they want and go on their merry way with no impediments.
Nonsense, I tried crank once in 1999 just like that with a Bic pen tube to catch the vapor. It’s the peasantry of drug use. Totally unrefined and uncivilized.
Dorsey announced he will introduce new legislation with Supervisor Catherine Stefani to amend the City Charter and get the Police Department fully staffed within five years.
Earlier this month, The Standard reported that the department was down 335 officers since 2017 and its staffing level of 1,537 officers fell well short of its goal of having 2,100 members on the force.
What good will that do if they just release them back out into the streets? I wonder what it is going to take for these people to wake up and take their city back from the criminals and drug addicts.
Now comes the mass exodus from San Fran and California and they’ll tell their new hosts, that don’t have these problems…how to run things properly.
These libs are so out of touch with reality, they’re asinine governor…after ruining his responsibilities…thinks he could/should be POTUS and is now parading around the US.
The world is going crazy but…that’s what sittin on the Yeti is for.
