Does congress have the right to Trump's tax records?

Congress already has the authority, thanks to the Republican Teapot Dome Scandal.

I find threads like these as funny.

Does Congress have the right to Trump’s tax records? No, Congress doesn’t have rights. Congress has powers, people have rights not government entities.

You’re belief and about $5.00 will get you a small Starbucks.

It’s almost as if…deep down…they know there’s something to hide.

Sure…donnie should let us all see how very very worried he is about his tax returns being seen. Very very very worried.

There is no “formal process” for claims of executive privilege. It’s a negotiation - and that’s exactly what happened in this case.

The White House is now using the most stupid argument I’ve ever heard to defend not showing the tax returns.

He was elected without showing them so this has already been vetted and approved by the election.

What the WH and many supporters here fail to factor in is the fact that he promised to show them (remember too, we’re talking about 2015 tax returns – they’re not likely still under audit).

So people voted on the promise he would release them, He didn’t and hasn’t but because he was elected that tells the WH that nobody cares.

This is the logic and honesty of this President and his mouth pieces.

Nixon was not criminally involved with the break-in…he was not criminally investigated in that regard. Were you not around back then? It was the cover up that got him…tho he was never criminally investigated or charged…Ford ended that with a pre-emptive pardon.

Remember the “respectable Republican cloth coat” speech…also known as the Checkers speech?

You have to wonder about the subconscious reason why donnie minions fight this totally legal investigation. It’s as if deep down they know…they know…

You are not acquainted with the hierarchy of government laws? You are not aware that all laws, while they are required to be Constitutionally aligned, DO NOT have to be placed in the Constitution itself? Are you not aware that this Congressional oversight was determined through a Supreme Court decision? You know…the guys who determine whether laws are Constitutional or not?

And determined to be such by the Supreme Court.

Im not thinking there are tax crimes otherwise the IRS would be on it. What I want to know is whose pocket he is in

When you destroy subpoened emails that shows a blatant intent to obstruct justice. As for her failure to secure secrets others have been jailed for doing the same thing with no intent to harm the United States.

The statute is clear about gross negligence. If we allow gross negligence to go unpunished we will always have gross negligence, is the thinking, and it is correct.

They didn’t refuse to do anything, so this is not the case.

They said what they wanted to do and Mueller said that would do.

I’m sure he decided that it wasn’t worth even getting into a pissing contest over, as the evidence he had already made it clear he would not be charging anyone in the administration with conspiracy - Trump included.

But Trump and Mueller were in sync, ultimately - no attempt to hide anything and no question refused to answer.

Stop trying not to do your homework.

M

No.

The White House exerts executive privilege when they think it is necessary and that is then adjudicated.

At no time did this White House exert the privilege.

Let’s play a game…

How many times were tax records disclosed to congressional committees in 2017?

In 2017, the IRS disclosed tax returns and/or tax return information 151,806,604 records to congressional committees…

Stop making things up.
